Isn't IDW putting out an All Hail Megatron hardcover next month?

Something makes me think this is the hardcover collection of the ongoing series.

This series pisses me off. I invested in the IDW Premiere Collection which was nicer but was canceled. If I want to continue the series, I need to figure out which one of these is the next logical volume from the Premiere Collection. Has anyone done this legwork? Does Volume 3 or 4 of this series logically follow Premiere Collection volume 2?

After looking at the IDW forums, it does look like that this volume will indeed collect All Hail Megatron. Both measure 7” x 11” according to the solicitations. The Complete edition is 492 while The IDW Collection is 352 pages. I'm not sure about the page discrepancies.

As a comic book collector, I get having numerous editions. I've bought plenty of DC paperbacks only to double dip for those fancy giant Absolute editions. In this case however, it just seems like IDW has offered the best edition possible and then just re-release it to match the previous IDW Collection releases.

So... what's the difference between this and the AHM hardcover then???

IDW Collection 5 contains All Hail Megatron and the Coda. The All Hail Megatron Collection contains the four individual All Hail Megatron trade paperbacks (look on Amazon or something for more details on those). I think only the first two trade paperbacks are covered in IDW Collection 5. The extra material consists of spotlights that tie into the All Hail Megatron story/universe. I've never been a fan of any of the spotlight collections because they are so hit and miss; a collection of them usually has 80% crap in it.

For some reason, I like the interpretaion of how Starscream's mouth works (teeth showing). It looks functional yet menacing. It retains the classic look unlike those horrid movieverse faces IDW was slinging around for a while.

Originally the IDW collections were intended to publish each of the stories in chronological order, so the Spotlight books were already included in other volumes:

Blurr: Volume 1 (Megatron cover)
Drift, Metroplex, and Jazz: Volume 4 (Grimlock cover)

Yea, I think the Spotlights are in the earlier volumes.

Glad that Starscream made the cover of volume 5!

I really like this series of hardcovers!
