I have heard that the comic screamer, unbuffed by outside powerups is much more powerful than his toon or movie counterparts. I have been told that he frequently owns several high ranking autobots all the time as well as multiple high ranking cons. Not to mention making it clear to megs that he plans to one day overthrow him and has tried and damn near succeded several times in the comics. Is this true?
I hope so. My fav bot is screamer and despite having no problems letting megs know he intends to catch him slippin one day thats realy all there is to screamer in the toon. Alot of mouth. He dosnt have any strength to back up his wors and is beaten by smaller autobots all the time. I HATED that. Were talking about the friggin aero space commander here! the second in command! Why have him so bull?
Dont even get me started on the movie incarnation of screamer. Not only is he the UGLIEST of the bots, but he is a terrible coward and even worse than he is in the toon.
So, Is he realy a bad ass in the comics?
Thanx guys n gals.
Scott :CON:

Yes, from what I've read, Starscream is a bit more conniving. But that's simply because Comics can take liberties.. and they have a progressive storyline.

My favourite comic is from the UK Christmas special, titled "Star Gazing".

Screamer gets homesick at Christmas. A young man tries to cheer him up, and show him "the spirit of Christmas", by leading Starscream around the town, hoping to see some charity and kindness from its inhabitants. On the way, Starscream gets into a fight with Streetwise, who mistakes an attempt to help a stranded bus as an attack. After it's over, the man is heartbroken when Starscream says that he only helped the people in the bus to humiliate the Autobot. Can Starscream's heart really be so cold!? Even at Christmas!? I guess you'll have to read it. ;)

Also, I forget the name, there's a strip about Starscream's rebirth as a Pretender.
He opens with the line "What's the point of having a super-powerful Pretender shell, when there's a nobody inside?"

He wanders around the base, mistaking the Decepticons' fear of him (they clam up when he goes by) for contempt.

The UK stories were always a bit more whimsical and... emotional, I suppose. They tended to focus on a particular character or moral issue, which would be addressed. They would often be slotted in at the back, in black and white. ^_^

Im realy not sure. I looked up "starscream tech specs/bio specs" and clicked onto a few results. Somewhere in there I read that screamer was generaly represented as a very powerful and intelligent bot that was capable of putting down several cons or autobots at the same time. It also said that alot of the cons would cower as he walked by. This was stated again above in another members post.
I am wanting to read the transformer comics but dont know where to start. I dont know which ones are good and I dont want to read the ones that have a t.v. version as I will already know what happens.
