Galvatron and Cyclonus

I was watching season 3 and I started thinking: Would Cyclonus make a better leader than Galvatron? I mean, Cyclonus appears to be a lot more sane that Galvatron ever could be. Perhaps if Cyclonus got over his 'Galvatron is our only hope and we must follow' attitude and took charge, then maybe the Decepticons would start winning more battles. At least he wouldn't shoot at his own guys.

Cyclonus is my favorite decepticon. I have always thought they went the wrong direction with Galvatron after the movie. Cyclonus would have been great leader.

Yeah, Cyclonus could've done more with the Decepticons than Galvatron if he'd been more than Galvatron's bitch. I'm curious, though, as to see why the Decepticons never went back to the state they were in in FFoD while Galvatron was leading. You can't tell me they ever got Energon.

Yeah, I believe Cyclonus could have held out on his own as a leader without Galvatron. In the beginning of 'Five Faces Of Darkness', Cyclonus did a pretty good job in leading the Decepticons while Galvatron was still gone. I mean, the Decepticons didn't disband while he was in charge, so that means he must have done something right to still keep them together.

Cyclonus would do very well, I'm sure. He just has to get his head out of his ass and see that following Galvatron can be hazardous to your health.

shame that the only time he went against galvertron was in 'web world', where he was trying to cure him of jis insanity!

Yes, a shame.

That episode rocked, by the way.

I think Shockwave and Cyclonus are oft-forgotten charachters. I also think Cyclonus would make a great Decepticon leader as well. He was always one my my faves post-movie.

I suspect that Cyclonus may have had some smuggled in behind Galvatrons back. Not enough to get him suspicious and have him flip out over being usurped but enough to keep the cons going, and with how mad Galvatron is he could just explain it away.
C: "Don't you remember? you lead the sweeps in a valiant attack on an Autbot shuttle yesterday and stole the cubes!"
G: "I did?"
C: "Oh yes my lord, you slaughtered those weakling Autobots and took all their energon for the glory of the empire, it was most impressive."
G: "Yes... that does sound like me."

I agree Cyclonus would be a lot better than Galvy would and so would Scourge.Even if that guy and his sweeps wear weird pink nail polish on their claws. :-?

You know, I think deep down inside Cyclonus is loyal to Galvatron because of who Galvatron once was as opposed to who he is now. That is he still respects Galvatron's past as Megaton, wanting to keep the ghost of Megatron's legacy alive with Galvatron, despite how much his sanity has disintegrated. Can anyone understand what I'm saying here? :???: I guess this is one reason why Cyclonus is one of my favorites. He's so loyal to a fault even if his safety was in jeopardy.

But then again I wouldn't have such rich fodder for Galvatron's "Death" and Megatron's "Rebirth" in my fanfiction. 8)

Yes I totally agree,I always found it hard to believe that Megatron and Galvatron were one and the same. Really if Galvatron was Megatron in a new and upgraded form shouldn't he have maintained both his intelligence and his brilliant flare for battle tactics instead of becoming a complete moron. At least the marvel comics portrayed Galvatron in a much better light.

Well, here's the main problem with this. According to U.S. cartoon continuity Galvatron's logic circuits were irrepairably fried by his little lava bath, so even though Galvatron contained Megatron's spark, said spark is trapped within the body of a lunatic. The only way for Megatron to be reborn in the U.S. continuity is to have his spark transferred to a new body.

In the Japanese Headmasters series Galvatron had been repaired (or somehow overcame his madness) and returned to his old self. Also I agree with Cyclonus being loyal to what Galvatron/Megatron was before he went mad, rather than what he was in season 3.

And worse in Japanese Headmasters, they turned Cyclonus and Scourge into bumbling idiots. Even Soundblaster treasts them like garbage...what a shame.

Scourge was hardly a model of leadership anyway though. Anyway Soundwave/Soundblaster had been part of the Decepticon high command for millenia before they were created, he was probably just glad to finaly get some respect from the boss again and wanted to put the upstarts in place.

The way the Decepticons kowtowed to Galvatron post-movie irked me. The way they were portrayed originally, the Cons would have practically eaten a weak leader.

I always thought that after the webworld episode, Galvatron got repaired of any damage and that was a turning point where he was a little more lucid.

Afterwards he was just "drunk" on his own power.

As for Cyclonus, he was the new Soundwave. He was awesome because he wasn't incompetent and got the job done.
