Wally World's probably the cheapest, but they don't always have DVD box sets when you're looking for'em.

Still, though, $54.99 is way overpriced.

The loss of the deleted scene is sad,but very easy to find on youtube. The new special features seem very justifiable towards new purchase. If i finf it in retail at right price may pick it up, but won't actively look for it.

$24.99 for each individual set, plus an extra $7.99 for a freebie. Hmm...not really.

That's Wal-Mart's discounted price. $54.99 is the full standard retail price. Prices may vary depending on the retailer.

So how is this release different from the individual releases, and was the booklet worth the wait?

It's basically the two previous Shout! factory releases (season 1 and seasons 2 & 3) bundled together in one set, complete with the "Dawn of Future's Past" prequel comic. Other than that, that's it. The only thing missing from the two individual sets is the comic, which is a tremendous shame.

...the fact that it's missing, that is. The comic itself is great. ;)

Now if only these sets could have also included the "Theft of the Golden Disk" episode too.

And it would have been nice for them to have included the deleted scene from "Nemesis, Part 2". As well as the full animatic (which includes even more cut footage) of said episode. I mean, they imported all the other bonus features from the Kid Rhino DVDs of Beast Wars, yet not these two. :-|

Is it well-written and goes seamlessly with the BW story?

Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio themselves were the story consultants for it. It takes place right after "Theft of the Golden Disk" and before episode 1. It was the BotCon 2006 convention story.

So theft of the golden disk isn't in the boxset? That sucks because it'd deffinately go well with watching that, then reading the comic. The comic was awesome though. But on one hand, Tigertron and Air razor weren't protoforms in it. That's one thing I didn't get. I haven't read it in a while so I forgot if it shows how they got that way but I'm kinda doubting it. But yeah, the comic does lead up t the show with Dinobot still being a Predicon.

They got damaged so badly that the crew of the Axalon didn't have time to repair them and instead had their sparks transferred into two blank protoforms. Though, they didn't have the proper equipment to do so, so it was a risky task that could have potentially damaged the two's core mainframes, which explains why Tigatron and Airazor awaken from their stasis pods like to newborns instead of existing people.

Awesome. Thanx for the info but you think it's kinda weird how it was a coinsodense (my spelling is off today) on how they were the first 2 to wake up on the Maximal side. I guess it's because they just felt that they had to put them in the comic that came out after the show. Megatron although did almost reprogram them.

Go buy this set and comic.

Though, I'm a bit bummed that the version of "Dawn of Future's Past" is the first version that doesn't have the the extra pages of bonus stuff included in the second version. Notably, these pre-Earth bio pages for Optimus Primal and Megatron.
