Well I had a nother god look at the gathering and noticed somthing!
The story is writen by Simon Furman and ilustrated by Don Figura.
But that's no secret, what I noticed was this, it seemed very familiar, as if I saw it somwere befor.
Then I remembered that Transformers Summerspecial DW brot out back then, containing a contest were you could vote the next DW TF comic.
One of them was R.I.D. and the other one was Beast Wars!

The stary was about Rattrap being atacked by Diniobot (clone) and was set at the end of Beast Wars. In it Rattrap was saved by three Maximals (don't know the names), all three are futered in the Gathering.
And as Rattrap says hey come back to Cybertron with us, they say they can't, and that they now have a purpes and now longer wish to fight!
Guess who wrote it....., now guess who ilustrated it!
Now what do you think of that?
Could it bee that SF planed BW the Gathering for a long time and cos DW got bankruped befor it got relesed it was revived by IDW?
Is the DW story the futer of IDW's BW?
Sorry if this has been posted befor.

Different continuities. Consider the Dreamwave one non-cannon.

That, and Furman writes practically everything. Mere coincidence, my friend.

The story was originally going to be released through Dreamwave, but their backrupcy prevented that. But the clamor from the fans was so great that IDW picked up the project with the same creative team. Desperate to tell a Beast Wars story, but wanted to distance themselves from DW, Furman and Figura wrote a whole new story, but kept some elements from their original intended story. So IDW's Beast Wars is set in a totally different continuity than DW.

Originally there IDW said they were possibily interested in finishing off War Within III, but have since lost interest and decided to go their own way.
