He was never destroyed by an Underbase-fueled Starscream. Which is a surprise, because a LOT of the TFs were.

Same reason Megatron and Soundwave are giant robots who turn into an itty bitty gun and tape deck. Size changing.

Well, one guy forms the pants.

But it's basically a way of cutting the amount of the Autobot's forces down in half, decreasing their ranks to be more easily outnumbered in battle, all in a marketing ploy to sell toys.

The cartoon ended before the Pretender toys came out. As for everywhere else, there was no Hound Pretender toy made to sell, so the fiction did not make him one (as they'd be promoting a toy that doesn't exist).

This I can answer. After season 3 ended, she began living on Cybertron, studying under Arcee's guidance to help her learn how to be a better Cybertronian. She's aided by her Tutorbot 2.0 companion, which was programmed by Perceptor and resembles a Diagnostic Drone from Beast Machines. She was present to witness the Stunt Convoy performance in "The Stunti-Con Job" comic, sitting in the stnads along with the rest of her team (minus Prowl, who died. R.I.P. Prowl ).

It varies in different cases depending on the series. Sometimes the leader's mind takes over. Sometimes all the individual minds merged into one unified mind, and sometimes the gestalt gets its own new mind for itself. Though, for the Japanese versions, it's usually whoever forms the head/torso that's in command of the gestalt.

They're mostly for aesthetic purposes. But if there's a large enough surface for them to stand on like, say, a ginormous other planet, then they could stand on that. But it's basically like asking why all TFs still have legs at any point during which they're floating in outer space.

A change in color doesn't make a bot a new person. They can change their name if they want, but their identity would still be the same. The only way to change a bot's personality is if some drastic reworkings are made directly to the personality itself.

• The Tonka GoBots are in their own world in the Gargent Cluster, though a handful of them crossed over into the TransTech universe and then the Classics comics universe.
• Generation 2 Gobots is in both the Wings Universe and the IDW G1 comics. He's alive in the former, but dead in the latter.
• The G2 Go-Bots are also the Wings Universe.
• The Playskool Go-Bots are in their own world in the Yayayarst Cluster.
• The Japanese Rescue Heroes Go-Bots are also in their own world in the Yayayarst Cluster.
• The DOTM Go-Bots are still being sold in stores this holiday season under the Robo Power label.
