Actually Soundwave was alive in the BW era, he was one of the Decepticons given amnesty (probably because he'd covered his own tracks so the bots couldn't pin anything on him) he just didn't turn up in the show.

Things I wouldn't like to see:

Any TF takeing off their armour to reveal... Naked flesh!
Any TF catching an Earth made computer virus.
Although there were a few dodgy looking scenes, any actual romance between male TFs. Not because I'm homophobic but because slashfic writers don't need any more encouragement.
