From bad to worse...Decepticons take a back seat to evil humans in the new cartoon

Cartoon and Hasbro execs said the new series, "Transformers Animated," will be significantly different than the others, adding humor, never-before-seen characters and a new premise in which the Autobots fight evil humans in Superhero fashion much more frequently than they battle the Decepticons -- the traditional "Transformers" lore since the property launched as a toy in 1984.
"We've used the basic Transformers and characters as a springboard, but then we're pretty much reimagining the whole thing," said Bob Higgins, senior vp programming and development at Cartoon Network. "What we're doing with it is basically turning it into a superheroes story. We're really excited that we're able to take this decades-old property and hopefully turn it into something that kids haven't seen or expected from a Transformers series before."

There's already
two threads on this very same topic, on the first page no less. Why did you feel you had to make another?

WHAT?! Oh, this is ridiculous! Now that's just wrong. Decepticons = badasses. That's just the way it's supposed to be. Any Transformers series where the Decepticons ARE NOT a serious threat second only to Unicron is just wrong.
And speaking as a Decepticon, I don't like having people belittle our badassitude.

maybe because I didnt see those 2 threads? sometimes things ARE that simple
edit: and maybe I didnt see because one is the old poster thread, and the other is 25/6 news thread, which isnt today...
I guess that dude that made the 25/6 news thread can make a new one, but I cant. Because Viral said so...

Forum Rule of Thumb, always search around (or just look on the first page, at the least) to see if your soon to be made topic, would fit in any other pre-existing thread. If you didn't see them, then it happens. Just for future reference. ^_~
Anyway, don't get all alarmed, and start having a fit. There will be Decepticons, in the new toon. Megatron, and Starscream have already been confirmed.

If you weren't one of the people who flipped upon reading that in this thread, then it wasn't addressed to you.

Agreed. Plus the Autobots are now SUPER HEROES!?!? Are they now going to have capes and wear spandex? 'Cause that is just wrong.
I don't mind them fighting evil humans, but their major enemy ARE Decepticons. It sounds like they will be some sort of Justice League or even a sort of alien-mecha police force. And even that, they can't go around beating up humans because they are much stronger then humans and would cause them serious injury.
But who knows? Maybe this will be like Beast Wars, derided at first before it comes out but years later declared a classic because it rocked. I just hope they don't have dumb gimics like Minicons or Powerlinking or little bots?/living creatures that turn into bodyparts and whatever. That stuff makes me yawn and change the channel. I hope it is them and a weapon or two, and thats it. Makes it more interesting when they survive on their wits and not some extra doodad they pulled out of their butts.

Man, no wonder they won't have weapons on this show if they are just fighting humans they won't need them.
I can imagine The TF's being the same size as the humans until they turn into a fire truck and then I cringe.

Well, when a franchise runs this long, there's bound to be some turkeys in the mix. Its like the various Gundam series; some were science fiction masterpieces and some just make you roll your eyes.
I'd have thought that after BM the powers that be behind Transformers would have learned that there's only so much re-imagining that will be accepted by fans. Going in a direction that makes them more human-like just ain't the way to go.

ARGH! No, no, NO!
Here I was, actually feeling hopeful and positive about the new Transformers show. I thought the new designs were well-done, in spite of their drastic changes. I liked the previous work of the assembled crew.
Then they drop this bomb in the form of my penultimate pet peeve.
*Sigh* For the zillionth time, no human villain can ever pose a serious threat to a Transformer villain. It cheapens the might of the Decepticons, shatters the focus of the story, and more often than not, upstages or outright replaces established, well-developed characters with obnoxious cliches (Mr. Evil CEO, I am looking at your cardboard-flat behind).
I don't even trust a cast and crew like this with an idea that bad.

It is not a crime. If you see something that is against the rules tell a mod about it (via PM). That is the most helpful thing to do. That way no one will "bust your chops" for letting others know what the rules are.

I'm sure no one is going to fault you for you doing what you think is right, It was just the way you carried it out that rubbed some of the other members here the wrong way a little.

I think running around, PM admin's and Mod's is
much more of an irritant, than just addressing it here, and now.
I'm not gonna pat everyone on the back, because they got rubbed the wrong way. But, I've been doing this whole forum thing for so long, it's to be expected. Oddly enough, I expect even this post to rub someone the wrong way.

Just a hypothesis: Maybe the Transformers may not be
physically fighting humans, but dealing with them on a mental level instead. Maybe the Decepticons are the major backers and funders of the evil humans, that whatever the humans had (like some bad weapon) was probably given to them or derived from a known Decepticon weapon. The Decepticons are probably the major movers and shakers in the background, and the humans (unknowingly) are the puppets. The Decepticons are probably doing this to sow discord between the humans and Autobots, to hinder any alliences that might possibly form. The evil humans are probably thinking they are getting something in return (technology) for aiding the 'cons, but in reality they are being used. Ultimately the 'con will either destroy Earth, and the Autobots along with it, or they will take over and rule it. Or even they will just leave, after taking all the fuel they needed.

Exactly. Nothing really wrong with what you did, it was the execution.
