so i posted this on tfw2005, and so far theyve been laughing and calling me a noob because i have rational thought. gotta love tf fans :-?

ok so anyways:

grow up. seriously, grow up. you don't like the new TF designs? FINE. those of us who do don't want to hear about it. now, i'm not saying that you cant relay your dissatisfaction here on the boards, but grow up, stop acting like children, and yelling things like "oh no, they're killing TF's" or "this show is going to suck, my eyes are bleeding!". its fine if you don't like it, but learn to be mature about it. the fundamental concept of Transformers is change, and the fact that you are complaining about changing a franchise about CHANGING, is ironic. hell, i wouldn't be surprised if most you ended up liking the show, i mean, remember the **** storm that popped up after the movie designs came out? thread after thread of angry fanboys screaming "oh my god! how could they do this? these designs suck, this movie will be horrible!", and now what? the majority of us love the designs, those of us who have seen the movie think its great, those of us who haven't think it LOOKS great, so whats the problem? cant you stand to give the new show just a tiny chance before you bash it? all you're doing by bitching and complaining is making the Transformers fandom look bad, so please for the love of Primus, grow up.

please dont ignore what i posted and start attacking me instead. that kind of behavior only reinforces my point.

But who knows it may become an instend hit.
I realy don't like that kind of artstile but I'll geve it a try, if it's like the Starwars cartoon then I'll just stop whaching it.

dude, clone wars was arguably the best non movie star wars media ever. if the show was anything like that, i would consider it a blessing.

Well I didn't like it, the only thing I liked was Joda.
The rest I don't know I just hated the look of it.

Nothing new. There's always a group of people whom wont accept, or attempt to like anything new, or different from what I are used to. This applies to everything. Television shows, diet, whatever.

So yea, I agree with you (OP). And it needs to stop. It wouldn't be that big of an issue, if it wasn't for all the trolling post they make, and the fact that this all occurs prior to even seeing the new material.

I've come to the conclusion, that the ones complaining, weren't actually around, or watching G1 when it originally aired.

heck, i wasnt around then either, ive been a fan since G2, but even with the fact that ive been a fan for almost 15 years, i still dont understand why people get so defensive of G1, it might have been the start, but it definitely wasnt the single most defining moment of transformers.

Neither was I. My first exposure was however, the original G1 syndicated run, in the late 80's.

I'm not a fan from the beginning ether, I'm only 18.
I've been a fan since G2, I've seen G1 on VHS with my cousin back then thoe.
And of cores on DVD since they've been relised in the UK.
I like G1 but don't think of it as the best ever, since it's not.

I don't like the new toon style, but mostly because it is too extreme. If it was like Samurai Jack or Clone Wars, then it wouldn't be such a big deal. In actuality, that style of those two cartoons has a sublime elegance to me, conveying power and strength without needing to resort to extreme musclarity(sp) or bulk. What the new cartoon does is try to convey those same properties, but overly exaggerating with size and bulk, and inadvertantly makes the characters look both funny and hidious.

What I think a bunch of fans may want, is a show that is satisfying to watch. What G1 was, (even though it had its stupid moments) was that it was kiddy enough to attract children, but at the same time it was intelligent. It had some serious parts in it, and didn't try to dumb its stuff down so much that it insulted the intelligence of the watchers. It had drunkenness, murder, death, romance, whatever, stuff you might never see on childrens TV now. I hear a lot about Beast Wars, and it delt about this stuff too. What I think a lot of fans are probably afraid of is that the new Transformers will be filled with mindless fluff, the television equivelant of a sugary Pop-Tart instead of a hearty meal of steak and potatoes.
