Question: What do we have to look forward to with your characters this season?

Peter Cullen
: In Season 3, there are times when Optimus Prime is really being kicked around, and he makes it back. Despite all the trials and tribulations, he gets back on his feet, which is a great message. Always coming back. Always surviving. Always being strong. Always being your best.
Guess we now know who isn't dying this season. :P

TV Tango has posted an interview with the cast and crew of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters from the red carpet premiere that took place last month. The interview contains some details that could be considered spoiler-ish, especially regarding the fate of Optimus Prime. It's also reveals that Peter Mensah will be providing the post for this season's new character Predaking. Click here to read the full interview, we've quoted a few excerpts below.

Question: Can you talk about the beasts, AKA the Predacons, being unleashed in Season 3?

Tania Gunadi: Have you seen the Predacons? They’re like dragon beasts. I’m scared of them. But you know Miko – Miko is never scared. Miko wants to kill them all.

Peter Mensah: I think the Predaking is the sign of things to come. It’s a great introduction, a really unmistakable entrance.

Question: What can you tell us about the ending of Season 3?

Jeff Kline (on getting advance notice for the final season and how it affected the series finale): We very much appreciate getting that heads-up so we could write accordingly. We had always planned the story knowing where we wanted to go at the end. Not sure how long it would take to get there, but knowing where we wanted to go. We tried really hard to give a satisfying conclusion to not just the whole, but also to each character. Hopefully, the fans will be satisfied and surprised in some cases. In the end, we want the viewers to experience a really good story, well told, so that they’re ready to see what the next TRANSFORMERS story will be.

Actually, this was really easy to predict. I can belive that creators was ready to kill Optimus, but toy maker's wont alloud them to erase one of their iconic trademarks.

Not just them, but I bet Peter Cullen had some impact on Prime not dying as well, since Optimus dying is a very touchy subject for him, especially when the character doesn't come back.

In other words, Mr. Cullen isn't exactly the biggest fan of Optimus Prime "getting whacked", much less for good. ;)

Last time a Peter Cullen Optimus died was in ROTF, which had him revived by the film's conclusion (for obvious reasons).

Though, regarding the G1 movie death, Cullen's Optimus returned twice in season 3. Once temporarily and once permanently at the end. Cullen remained onboard as the voice for Powermaster OP in season 5, but the "20 years off" thing was due to the cartoon simply ending and the companies seeking other people (Garry Chalk, Neil Kaplan, David Kaye, etc.) for the role.
