You know Im really tired of the peaple that say " hey the new cartoon is for 7 year olds for young kids, so get over it, its not for us older TF fans " And here is the reason why- The G1 cartoon was done in a way that it was mature enough content wise that it could be enjoyed and appreciated by both kids and teens/adults, much like the GI JOE cartoon and Voltron/Tranzor Z and such of that era.. Thats a big reason Takara and Hasbro was able to hold onto alot of the fan base over the past 2 decades that grew up and still enjoyed the cartoons because they did appeal to all ages.. So why is it that now all of assouden any new TF cartoon is only for 7 year olds, and how dare we expect anything else.. Im sorry but thats a load of crap, some say hey its because they need to build the new generation of TF fans through the kids.. So older fans to hell with you.. That logic doesnt work because during G1 they had NO fans before it came out, and they didnt need to make it just for 7 year olds to build that new fan base.. They built it by making the toons mature enough for all ages.. And 2nd, the fact that they DO NOW have a built in older fan base from G1 and refuse to aknoledge it with the new american TF cartoon making it just for 7 year olds is very insulting and again a load of crap.. Bottom line, its our right to complain about this issue, because theres no excuse that they cant make a new TF cartoon for all ages now adays just like they did with G1.. Why is it so hard to just do that, to just get the same peaple that worked on G1, peaple say hey you wanted an american made TF cartoon so dont complain, bullcrap, we didnt want a kiddy crap toon all we wanted was to be treated like we matter as fans that have been supporting TF for decades.. All we wanted was to be treated the same way they treated us with the G1 cartoon, with respect for all ages not just kids too young to really care.. Why cant they understand this, they did in the 80s, so why the hell not now? Sorry for the rant, but its bullcrap and its our right to expect better from them.. Sorry if I offended anyone, thanks for reading.. And no Im not as mad as it sounded lol, just wanted to get this off my chest.. Rock on TF fans!

I too wish they would make a more 'mature' cartoon show for the older set, instead of only pumping out kiddie shows. I imagine the kiddies who are old enough to see it too will apreciate it, as it would not be insulting their intelligence like some of the modern shows do now. I think that whomever makes the shows assumes that there isn't enough older fans to make such an effort pay off financially. Which in a way they are right, but a well written show can also draw in new fans and even win awards. But in the future we will have to see, as I never expected in my life that there would ever come about a live-action Tf movie. So you never know, we could get lucky. Especially if the movie does fantastic in its theater run.

It would be nice to have a more adult cartoon, but at least we have IDW's comic stories. They are fantastic!!!
Besides grown men and women are not supposed to watch cartoons, don't you know that!?

They don't have enough Romance

It is our right to have some romance (and not of the squishy kind).
It doesn't have to be part of the A plot, but put some heated looks and shy glances into the B or C plot.

INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!
If you can't handle other people's opinions on YOUR opinion (not to mention a bit of sarcasm), don't join forums.

Welcome Sarri. As you can tell, we are passionate about the brand here, and are certainly opinionated. Usually if someone is kidding with you they will put some sort of smiley with the post, indicating that they are doing such...
In other words, Elita One, how about some kindness? Sarcasm and opinions are fine, when they can be understood as so, you went and basically blasted her opinion, which is not acceptable...

It was clearly not serious (the GET OUT part), I figured someone in a forum would be able to pick up on that because that's the way people talk in forums, with a hint of sarcasm. It wasn't a mean gesture at all.
I was being serious about the "are you kidding" part because romance and Transformers are things that don't really go together since, even though they have male and female voices and "looks" to them, they are more of a genderless race (come on, they're ROBOTS) so the point of romance would be useless because usually it would involve offspring and so on, which is obviously not going to happen, so I personally think it's stupid.
I am NOT the type of person to always take seriously AT ALL. I DO NOT use emoticons 99% of the time because I don't like to use them so if a person is going to take the internet seriously, they shouldn't be on the internet. I can understand if I swore at the kid but I didn't, I disagreed with the opinion.

Well being new, she does not know your style of posting so help her out with a (jk) or (not serious), something.
Thanks for clearing it up though.

Meh, didn't mean to offend bt I guess I've been in the forum game longer so I know how it works. I just didn't think someone would take it seriously. It's just the internet....
Anyways, yeah, love and Transformers makes me frown.

I'm with you, but some of the females (my wife included), wouldn't mind some more of the relationships being explored: friendships, kinships, etc...

It just sounds weird that robots would be in love. Them being robots, they probably wouldn't even know what love was anyways.
I must be the only woman who hates romance <_<

I hope Sarri didn't decide to leave forever, I hope she read the rest of this thread after her last post, so as to clear up any misunderstanding.
I like romance, but not the mushy kind that is sometimes seen. The "Smoopy, smoopy" kind I don't really like, but the intelligent kind I do. I don't mind Tfs being in love and having romance, so long as its done tastefully on the show. Sometimes the modern shows go a bit far with showing some stuff, (like the couple making-out onscreen) and it looks trashy.

Wow Elita-1 big ass hole way to welcome Sarri to the board. Also is this cartoon going to be hated on only to be proven great in the end just like the movie? I expect it shall.

I'm a female so that would make me a bitch, not an asshole.
I see you didn't bother to read the other posts I made. You're certainly made of fail.
If a person leaves a forum because someone disagrees with them, they don't belong in a forum. I've been **** on a few times here and I didn't go anywhere because it's the internet. It's not serious.

Ugh, romance. Bloody hell, it's a cartoon about robots coming to Earth who are at war, not a damn Mills/Boon story. There's plenty of other places to look if you want a romance story, and Transformers SHOULDN'T BE IT.

im all for an anime-ish TF series, I think they could go into a character driven series, and throw in tons of action. I really liked the way they deepened Starscream's character in Armada. On topic though the whole point of any tf series is to sell toys, so it makes sense to sell it to kids that young so they can beg their parents for it.(i dont agree but im not the one in charge) We do have the comics, and the new universe/classics line is more for us so at least were not completely forgotten

I'm a big equality between the genders guy myself so I hung that name on you just as I would a dude, and I read the rest of your post. Honestly I agree with you I was trying to amuse myself by starting some **** as it were you seemed to be on the same wave length. I digress and surrender like France. I still say the haters will look foolish once again when the show airs.

Yeah,. well it irritates me when I see fangirls who want to see romance in EVERYTHING. I mean, here's a newsflash for anyone like that: Transformers was created, and is generally maintained as a cartoon for young boys. Not women who want to see Optimus and Elita gaze lovingly into each others eyes.
Transformers is fine as it is without needing to wuss it up with some sappy tale of love. People who want to see Romance in cartoons annoy the hell out of me, in that A) It's not real, and B) It's generally aimed at kids. Females who like Transformers are cool. Ones who watch it just to fall in love with fictional robots, not so cool. Starscream fangirls, for example, piss me off. It's a character, based of a toy for CHILDREN. I mean, come on, when's the last time you heard of a guy go apeshit over a Bratz doll and start talking about how "Sexy" it is?
