I wonder if I can convince hubby to go to this one.. and mom to babysit the kids.. Chicago isn't close, but it's a drivable distance...

I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to go, but I booked the room just in case!

It cannot be a coincidence that Botcon announced this on the weekend of TFCon.

Everyone should note that the last day, June 21, is Father's Day. This might be a good thing (if you're a father and need an argument for going) or a bad thing (if you want to do something with your own father that weekend instead).

Hrm. Looked into booking a room, but it says the 21st (Sunday) is unavailable to check out. Anyone have any info on this? Or did they somehow fill up completely on that one day?

Figures....The last Botcon I went to was many many moons ago in Rosemont, Illinois in 2004. 2014 is the year I've found myself drifting from the hobby...now I have the chance to book a room in St. Charles at convention location for $114.00 a night? (taxes not included) :BOWDOWN: :BOWDOWN: :BOWDOWN: . I'm perplexed since it is only about a 2 hour drive for me. I cannot afford the entire attendee package and forget the exclusives, but could go up, enjoy the dealer room, and hope there are some cool freebies. The last time I was there Hasbro did a survey for upcoming Transformer Alternators characters ideas and I got an exclusive set of Energon weapons...that is how long it has been since the Midwest got any love from Fun Pub and Botcon whatsoever. (Botcon 2012 in Texas doesn't count as the Midwest IMHO) :BOT:

Update: I booked a room for one night (Friday June 19th, 2015) so can go after work and be there for general admission day on Saturday June 20th, 2015. Sucks that the weekend are the ONLY days open to the non attendee package folk like myself. The room looks primo...probably the nicest hotel room I'll ever have the pleasure of staying in :D ...Wow in retrospect that sounds really really sad.

Regardless of being able to afford the figures...fingers crossed these exclusives utilize some of the great Transformers Prime molds...like we may actually get a Prime Breakdown mold here in the states without having to import. I would also love to see an Ultra Magnus out of Voyager Prime mold as well.

It's not just those two. They also announced that JoeCon will be in Springfield, Illinois in April. Suddenly that's the place to go for Hasbro fans.

Booked my rooms! The main block is sold out though. Ask for rooms in either the Golf or Resort wings.

My mind works in warped ways...often involving large quantities of alcohol and occasional streaking. But I'll hold off on the streaking out of respect for Seibs. 8-}

I think I can make this one. Chicago is super doable.

Any New Yorkers down for an anonymous, extremely awkward road trip? Looking at you, Mooncake. ;)
