As expensive as the summer can get, the timing is very welcome, imo.

That was a good thing that we haven't.

Keeping it in the summer prevents BotCon from interfering with Spring semesters.

from a marketing perspective, it's better to have it in April so that people don't get distracted from botcon by the other Summer cons.

And I'll be moving to Virginia within the next six months, meaning I'll actually be relative close.

Hopefully I can use my connections to get me in...

Keeping it in summer makes my summer very hectic. With my brothers wedding in late june, I was worried about it conflicting with his wedding. Early april doesn't conflict with anything on my end which is awesome.

I live in Tennessee, so this might actually be the first Botcon I can go to. Hopefully I can convince my wife that having her go too means that we can pay for a good bit of the admission by seller the figures that she gets lol

Hopefully that means attendance won't be as high as in summer, which means, for me personally, it will be more enjoyable. Fewer people = better experience. Like I said, though, just my personal preference. And I might actually attend next year, it will be closer to where I live than it has been in quite some time. Here's hoping for a Beast Wars 20th anniversary theme! (Perhaps the Masterpieces Optimus Primal and Beast Megatron will debut there?)

This is so awesomely, super sweet! Finally Botcon comes to my state again and I may actually be able to go(I missed the last one in Lexington, KY). I prefer April as well since its not as hot. Hope there will be really cool stuff at this one.

Kentucky...sheesh. Anybody want some fried chicken ? Funpub loves 2nd tier cities. Ive pretty much made my decision that until they give us NYC or maybe Vegas im gonna just get my stuff online. I much rather make a vacation out of it so the city is important to me. It would also be nice if they could just bring it to miami already. Bots, Booze, and Booty would make an excellent theme.

Vegas I'm down with, that's a fun place. Miami? Could work. And NYC? Hopefully never. That place is a s**thole.

Ya gotta know where to go, and how to get around. But, FunPub already answere the post above yours about 2Nd tier Cities (Which I disagree with) because of convention room pricing and concerns over room rates for Dealers and guests. So the best anyone in Nevada will get, ( and I won't be going) is near-Vegas.

I've been to NYC once, and it was a very unpleasant experience. Maybe I'll try to go back again and do things differently. As for BotCon going to Vegas, I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. I can't think of another place that has so many hotels in one place. Rooms would never be unavailable to convention goers. And by near-Vegas, what were you thinking? There's nothing really "Near" Vegas. Except desert. I think Reno wouldn't be a bad idea either. Though it's not really "near" Vegas.

Haven't we been told in the past that New York and Las Vegas just aren't realistic expectations? Glad to go back to Kentucky. Brings it all full circle for me since 06 was my first Botcon. It would be interesting if we were to revisit BW in some way with the figures as a celebration of the 06 con and the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars. Beast Wars Uprising, perhaps? Either way, we're excited.

Oh, wow, that is cool! BotCon 2006 and 2016 both being in Kentucky. And I second the need for a BWU theme. The time is very much right for such a set, what with the Club fiction having built up the world enough to make worth playing with some more in a convention set. There's plenty of factions to pull toys from as well. There's the Builders, Lio Convoy's rebels, the Darksyders, the Micromaster Patrols, the Maximal Command Security Force, the Predacon Secret Police, etc. 8-)

Awesome news. Glad to have it in my backyard. There's so much to do in Louisville that no one should be disappointed. 4th Street Live is just a short walk away. No shortage of bars.

I doubt they could have gotten it 2 weeks later when the Derby festival events are in full swing. You're really missing out on some fun after-the-con-doors-close stuff.

Now if only JOEcon would be here, too.

If I drag my wife along, is there anything for her to do in Louisville? She's convinced Louisville is boring, and that means I'll probably take a raincheck on the con this year.

As a New Yorker, I am totally not in anyway offended by that. Miami is an awesome tourist destination, even if the traffic is terrible.
