WHOA! Insect wing deco! DUUUUUDE!

And the yellow in jet mode kinda reminds me of Armada Starscream. Nice.
Also, for those wondering why no new head, the Skydive head is close enough as it is:

I like that actually, the detail on the wings looks quite cool as well. Do wonder what the while thing will look like though considering Tarantulus and Ravage. Feel like they should of went all in with this colour scheme

The more I look at that jet mode, the more I can't help but be constantly reminded of Armada Starscream by its deco. It's totally Armada Starscream-esque crossed with an insect wing pattern, plus two

I really like the wing design and the colors aren't really that bad. It looks better than windsweeper at any rate

Actually, the show models for the Tri-predicus council were supposed to look like the toys, but Mainframe like hit the deadline for the show and I think they also blew their budget for that season by that point. so they just threw some things together for their animation models
Yeah, I did know that; but someone, somewhere could've come out and said that they were
supposed to be the toy colors, so things like
this don't happen; because - until I see the combined mode - this does not scream $300-400 collectors set

OH, oh, right, the color scheme from The Agenda. For a second I thought he was supposed to be all bloody as a sort of Halloween gag.
I guess making a jet the color of the toy would look too much like Armada Thrust. Though in this scheme, his jet mode looks like it's supposed to be yet another Armada Starscream, which could be fixed by changing the yellow bits to a dash of his original green.

Then he would look like Christmas colors.

They should've seen if they could cast the wings in translucent plastic and then paint over them, similar to their machine wars skywarp.

I'd... rather we not risk another incident like that again.

I might just have to get this set. I am really liking it and the fact that I have none of these characters and they combine is making it good for me. Not too sure how I'll afford it (maybe my tax return will be in), and more importantly I cannot go so it would be through other sources, so that's just pricey

The two red limbs look nice. And Ravage makes a nice black limb for contrast. If only there was some other black and gray assassin employed by the Tripredacus Council... Hmm... That would have made a nice counterpoint - a symmetrically colored combiner. And we wouldn't have ended up with two Tarantulas figures back to back. If only there was someone that FunPub could have made a figure of...*cough*Onyx Primal*cough*

How so? I never heard anything bad happening to the figure. Also if this an aesthetic thing, deco-ed clear wings on a jet character that eventually becomes a bug might not be bad.

Until something better comes around, I may use this as Pre-BW Terrorsaur for the time being.

The specific areas of Skywarp's wings that were supposed to represent his teleporting ability (as in, these parts were supposed to be fully translucent with no paint apps) got painted over in solid white, ruining the effect.

Oh, see what I was thinking was cast the wings in translucent plastic and adding the line work of the bug wings to them.

Yeah, but, with what happened last time they tried "translucent wings with paint pattern" I'd rather they not risk making something go wrong again (as so recently happened with the black helmet sides of everyone's TFSS G2 Starscream).
Plus, there's already a red and silver deco on the undersides of the wings, so that might show through the translucent topsides of the wings, making them look more red than clear.

Ravage was, at best tolerable.
Tarantulas was, at best interesting.
Ram horn was, at best awesome.
Cicadacon is at best, underwhelming.
*because of Windsweeper*

Yea, I'm pretty happy with this guy. The only thing I would have wanted to see is a bit of black line detail to break up the face. That's it.

Cicadacon looks very good, but I think the best figure in the box set is Tarantulas. I've always loved the Rook mold, so any use of it is good in my book.

He's my favorite too but I feel that he's the only one who doesn't really fit as far as color goes. All the others are red black and silver and then there's me. neon green and purple.

So first they mistake the red light illuminating the Council as their actual colours (as opposed to, you know, colouring them like the actual toys). And now, as one of their special, limited edition convention exclusives, they give us...a straight redeco with absolutely no retooling whatsoever.

Well, what were you expecting, a drill gun? They said they were going to give us 5 new heads, so unless you're willing to skip the combiner head, one of them was always going to have a normal head
Besides, there's not much precedent (like, none at all actually to my knowledge) of them doing any re-tooling besides heads, so Ramhorns drill would be a first.

The drill isn't from Fun Pub. It's believed to be preexisting tooling from Hasbro/Takara that hasn't been used yet.
In the past, Fun Pub has retooled new wings for BotCon 2007 Thrust, and a new neck piece for BotCon 2014 Scorponok. But other than those, it's mostly been new heads.
