Ryan, if you own or ever plan to get the original Diaclone figures that these pilots and the Storm Rider drone are based on, and want to later update the galleries with comparison pics, here's a chart with all of them plus the others that all the Diaclone homage toys from this year were based on:

I don't have much interest in chasing down Diaclones for the sake of doing comparisons for these guys. If I found some for a steal, maybe, but I'd really rather finish my Takara G1 collection first.

What I am interested in knowing is where I can find out if the Reflector pilot is actually called Spy-Eye (as in the Go-Bot, which I read elsewhere on our forums) and if the Diaclone pilot which it homages is a good guy or a Waruder and who the original pilot it homages is.

On the first page that Burn Out and Lift-Ticket appear in the comic, Lift-Ticket is holding the red Reflector in camera mode and refers to it as "Spy-Eye". I'd give the page number, but the comic lacks page numbers and I wouldn't know which page to consider "Page 1" (the cover, the inside cover, or the next page with the story's beginning).

Lift-Ticket's line of dialogue reads "Hrm, the signals that are being detected by Spy-Eye... without a doubt."

Sadly, the little guy doesn't seem to appear on any other page in the comic.

As for whether the name is a reference to the GoBot, or what the nature of the Diaclone toy it homages is, I know not, but can keep looking into it.

Well, looks like finding out what Diaclone toy Spy-Eye is based on was easier than I thought. It's the Powered Suit, a biosuit that the little (good guy) Diaclone pilot figures could be put into and wear.

It always tickles me to see just how deeply Transformers were influenced by mecha.

Is the price really that bad ? Its 4 figures. Split the price in 4 and they come out to $42.50 each plus shipping. Pretty good for an exclusive compared to millions publishing or Tokyo toy fair exclusives prices.

I mean, you can say 4x the price of a deluxe, for a deluxe and a rubber piece of crap is a good deal - as compared to more outlandish figures' prices; but to everyone on even the most lax budget, it's a rather horrendous price >:oP

So don't buy it. These are limited exclusives, and are priced accordingly. I sympathize with those who are priced out of instant gratification, but I don't see the point in constantly bellyaching about it.

These will most likely lower in price/value as time goes on. Patience.

Agreed on that. That's just the major turnoff for me with the Kreons. Their paint apps tampograph are just so poorly done and aligned. This here, looks like somebody designed them with a frickin Sharpie pen.

Hasbro should really QC these Kreon. The best tampo I ever had with Kreons was Jarugar from series 8 i think. That was superb. Colors are nice, well aligned and sharp. That proves they could do it.

These are really... yikes. The actual designs look rather primitive with how reliant they are on straight lines, then the printing itself has a bunch of errors like smudging, chipping, and not fully covering a surface.

Seriously, just compare them to THIS:

Aside from the yellow paint for Nightbird's eyes and a few other minor flaws on the rest of these guys, I don't see all of the major flaws that are deserving of the comments above. With macro photography, the flaws in all Transformers toys paint jobs is brought into extreme focus. It is the bane of my existence as I try to find as near perfect specimens of each toy to photograph. The smallest flaws on these toys are brought out unfortunately by my up close and personal photography. The flaws aren't nearly as noticeable when held in hand versus under my camera lens.

Yeah, because all the other kreons you've photographed looked like crap. Oh wait, they looked fine, and the botcon kreons look like crap. Not even the past 2 years sets looked this bad. So this was either a QC issue which still further reinforces the rumor the club doesn't pay for it despite what they say. Or they gave up on this set. Either way, you don't have to rationalize the clubs mistakes, I know you want to be closer, but still.

I'm sure you meant well with your statement but please don't pull that card on me again. I do not deserve that.

In addition, you haven't seen enough photographs of mine of the Kre-o line to know whether or not the rest look just as flawed or not since I only photographed the first wave or two of products 3 years ago. I haven't photographed any of the Microchangers since the preview wave.

It indeed is. Not surprising since Kre-O covers not only Transformers, but Battleship, G.I. Joe and Star Trek as well ;)

New Galleries: BotCon 2015 Burn Out and Lift-Ticket with Diaclone Pilots

The latest offering in the Seibertron.com galleries in the post-BotCon 2015 weeks features some more Diaclone homages in the shape of Burn-Out and Lift-Ticket, and their pilots. These two figures are the previously 'leaked', so to speak', redecos of Generations Skids and Hoist, the former featuring a black paintjob, and the latter sporting a full red makeover - and the pilots, Dia and Cline, are repurposed from the Targetmasters that came with deluxe Scoop, Holepunch and Caliburst.

Check out a preview from the new galleries below, and click on any of the images to access the full works!

I cant wait for mine to arrive. I ordered em from the club finally. I also bought an extra X2 add on kit for lift ticket. Sure the gun is a brighter yellow but who gives a crap? I love diaclone homages. Somebody needs to do a black ironhide and blue trailbreaker. I heard the club is done with diaclone now, no future plans for it. Maybe e-hobby can get the ball rolling ?
