For the record, I do like this OP repaint. A lot, actually. Especially with the shield/insignia.
Actually, of all the figures, I like him the most. The Cyclonus & Scourge molds are too distinctive for me to see them as anything else. Cannonball looks good, but I don't have any particular attachment to him. And Scorponok... I do give props to Funpub for the deco and Headmaster gimmick, but I'm not a huge fan of Unicron Trilogy molds (excepting Unicron himself), including the limited articulation on Energon Scorponok.
I'm interested to see a group shot of the 5 figures, though.

3H did it just fine. >:oP
Fun Pub has tried that before, but aside from the Nexus Prime dudes, the new characters Fun Pub tries to create never seem to win over the fans.
I don't know that I'd argue that 3H did it because 3H is out of business. I wouldn't consider any of their characters big well known characters either.

You're generalizing. That's not how I feel nor what I want.

I don't own any version of it. None. Which is 1 of the reason why I offered earlier to split the cost of a set with someone. I'll take Ginrai and Ferak, the other person can have the other 3.
Throw in postage to Australia and you've got a deal!
If I don't work out something with someone here in the US, I'll PM you.

Welcome to Seibertron.com, Michael!
The episodes you worked on in the original Transformers cartoon series are among some of my favorites. Starscream's Brigade is easily in my top 5 episodes and Gambler (Devcon's lone episode) has to be in my top 10. Great character. He should've gotten some love a long time ago!

That would be terrible. Someone needs to go meltdown the mold to that unfortunate Cheetor toy so that it never gets used again.

That bad, huh?
I never got Cheetor, only Dinobot. I used to want him to act as a foe until more Predacons were made, but Waspinator's got me covered.
I guess being piss poor, unlucky, and inconveniences can be advantageous at times.

Loved CatSCAN (again, original character created for the convention, 3H did a good job with that!) but I agree, would hate to see him from that mold.

In all seriousness, okay, no more Cheetor eyes.
Instead, have an eye
less Cheetor:

oh
man, it is wild to see a writer from the 80s cartoon actively interested in the franchise's merchandise. If this is actually Mr. Hall, this is a guy that actively deserves the figure.
I'm a fan of Devcon, myself, and have been waiting for one to go with my Universe Smokescreen. Can't afford the box set, sadly, but I would totally pick one up individually.
Maybe we can hope for a retail release someday? Obviously not with this mold or headsculpt, but still. It'd be nice.
Yes... I really am the writer of
The Gambler (among other TRANSFORMERS G1 episodes) and the creator of Devcon. And thanks... I think deserve one of these BotCon exclusives as well. However, I think it is unlikely that we will ever see an official Hasbro version. Maybe because of Devcon's one and only appearance in the series (sorry... that's my fault as I certainly had plenty of opportunities to bring him back) or maybe because Devcon was never an official Hasbro character in the toy line. But we can all dream... anything can happen. When I was writing for the TRANSFORMERS... I never imagined that all these years later... people would still be talking about them!
