I don't know if someone post it already or not :

Top 5 or 10 "bonus transformers". (Or worst 5)

When you have a big transformers and a little with it. Sound Wave had a lot of them and even some old G1 are really amazing, but there is also some good examples with Transformers primes, movies or cybertron, and headmasters.

I love the gun/gorilla of transformers prime Megatron and his bat/axe/sword/grim reaper.

Sometimes they transform into weapon, sometimes into little cars or plane (cyberton mini con). The gun form of gunbarrel is cool i think. And the bot form and plane form are ok.
http://www.tfu.info/2003/Mini-Con/Gunba ... barrel.htm
Same for Makeshift
http://www.tfu.info/2003/Mini-Con/Makes ... eshift.htm

Normally, the bot form is the first form of transformers, and the alternate form is for hidding. So the bot form should be practical...

So a top weirdest minicon bot form could be done.

http://www.tfu.info/2002/Mini-Con/HighWire/highwire.htm
This is the first one that comes to mind when I think "weird looking bot form".
but these one also come to mind
http://www.tfu.info/2003/Mini-Con/Comettor/comettor.htm
http://www.tfu.info/2003/Mini-Con/DeadEnd/deadend.htm
http://www.tfu.info/2003/Mini-Con/Night ... htbeat.htm
And "war on cybertron" Ravage/Steeljaw is kind of weird to.

:-? That top 5 best extra Transformer is a good idea. I will have to word it properly. I already have a top 5 (post G1) target master list coming up so a few Microns will be there.

What would be a good title though, top 5 transforming partners? Maybe. Those two that come with Darkness Megatron would be great and number 1 would probably be G2 Smokescreen, who is Dreadwing's partner. Oh, I got it top 5 partnered sidekicks among transformers toys, and only talk about the transforming ones. So we got 2 down, who would the other 3 be?

Great idea Gingko.

WJ, wouldn't Soundwave and Laserbeak be #1, then SW and Rumble as 1B, Frenzy 1C, etc. Or Soundwave and Cassettes.

I would vote for Vector Prime and Safeguard to be in the top 5. Safeguard is a robot, a spaceship, a gun, and can connect to Vector Prime when Prime is in spaceship mode. Awesome little figure, a excellent integration, smooth elegant.

1. Soundwave and Cassettes
2. Blaster and Cassesttes – Steeljaw, Ramhorn, Eject, Rewind - Not repaints. Awesome figures turned into great characters. A freakin golden lion with wings = awesome!!!!!!
3. Dreadwing and Smokescreen
4. Vector Prime and Safeguard

This is great, just wondering:
What title would you give this list?

Top 5 Transformer Partners, Sidekicks, Minions, or Helpers
Description: Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, or Cyclonus and Scourge could be considered partners in fiction. This list, however, is for those Transformers that were either sold together or that were created to fit together. Minicons count.

1. Soundwave and Cassettes
2. Blaster and Cassesttes
3. Dreadwing and Smokescreen
4. Vector Prime and Safeguard

More ideas:

Prime and Roller
Metroplex and Scamper
Depth Charge and Breacher
Mindwipe and Skystalker

I prefer Top 5 partners over sidekicks or minion.

And i think we could easily make a special top 5 just with Soundwave and Blaster extra. and another top for other minicons.

In soundwave case, rampage G1 is already awesome. And it keep getting better and better with time (except the beast hunter version)
but my favorite is Laserbeack Cybertron http://www.seibertron.com/transformers- ... /848/1/27/
Because his feather are articulate.
the rhino is also pretty cool in some version.

For other minicons, I like the hammer/rhino for Breackdown
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers- ... 3561/1/27/
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers- ... 3561/1/48/
Ida the claw/spider of AirRachnid.
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers- ... 3006/1/36/
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers- ... 3006/1/20/
Sadly in this two case i prefer the micron over the real toy.

And there is all those I have previously quote.

Tigertron usb is the best goodies ever made, it is not really a partners, but I really like it.

BEST USB EVER !

There will be many lists. One for partners that are included with the toy. Another for top 5 G1 casettes, and individual lists for Best Lazerbeak and Ravage toys. So everything will get mentionned eventually.

I just had another idea for a list: Top 5 best construction vehicle Transformers. I can think of a few candidates- Cybertron Quickmix, ROTF Long Haul, maybe one of the RID Build Team...

I like the idea but how do you think we should handle the combiners? Should they be seen as the individual figures or as the complete combiner? For example, I like ROTF Longhaul better than all the individual gen constructicons but I like gen Devastator combined better than ROTF longhaul.

I like beast machine Scavenger.

http://www.seibertron.com/vsd/character/scavenger/701/

A good case where the photographer didn't try very hard to transform the toy. He didn't turn the chain on the legs the right way...

I'm not even sure how he had make the toy stands this way for the photo !

It is a good toy, i'had played a lot with it years ago. very articulate, easy to transform, and the long arm/head is a cool thing on a toy. It can be extand to bite.

I think we should exclude combined forms from the list and focus purely on the individual figures- as in, who is the better transforming construction vehicle. That's not to say you should exclude combining toys completely- they might get extra brownie points for a good combiner mode (or penalties for a crappy one that compromises their playability) but overall I think the focus should be on the figure as a toy on its own. So for example, UW Scrapper might make it onto the list, but Devastator wouldn't.

Case in point, if you were doing an emergency vehicle TF list, one might mention CW Rook, as even if you don't want a Defensor he's a great toy with a fun play pattern. Likewise, in the days gone by of G1, if someone didn't want/couldn't afford all the Constructicons but could get one, you might recommend Mixmaster because he comes with a big gun, or Bonecrusher because he comes with a drill, or whatever.

You read my mind. Yes, in this list I would totally include UW Scrapper. He is by far the best of the bunch and it pains me that the western audience never got to experience his full potential.
Ok so ROTF Longhaul would be on the list (well more likely his redeco which has a really nice wash), UW Scrapper, who else? I wouldnt put ROTF mixmaster, and I am not too fond of any other ROTF construction vehicle TF. Their construction vehicle modes are nice, but I am not fond of the robot modes or transformations.

Hmm. That's a tricky one. I'd be tempted to say Cybertron Quickmix/Universe Heavy Load. I don't own him myself but he looks awesome, has a neat transformation, a killer headsculpt and a pretty cool gimmick. RID Wedge could be a safe bet, especially considering his age. PCC Sledge is one of my personal favourites- he turns into a rockwheel trencher/digger hybrid, has a buzzsaw in his chest, generally looks really cool and comes with Throttler, who turns from a pretty poseable mini-con into a drill! Energon Steamhammer is one I'm fond of myself- he made a kinda crappy torso (though it did have cool details, like the shoulder bucket and that combiner head) but as an individual toy he's pretty fun. Armada Buzzsaw should be on the honourable mentions, as whilst he's not a work of engineering art he is a cute little thing and he turns into a teeny-tiny bucketwheel excavator- a better one in fact that Cybertron Metroplex!

The story and prominance of the character. Which ones have their most interesting incarnation in the comics. I didnt write that list actually, it is a guest writer so it will be his personal opinion.

Ha OK.

I don't know many transformers comics in France. We have Marvel, DC and a lot of stuff from all around the globe, and ourselve are quite prolific, but we don't have transformers comics.

The only transformers comics I'have, are from toy with comics package.

Don't know why, maybee it's not rentable here.

If you dont mind reading them in english, they are very affordable online. I read them through comixology. They have all the great comics there. Megatron
Shockwave
Galvatron
Starsream
Scorponok

I won’t count Rat Bat, that was not cool. I think there is actually a size prejudice in Transformers and Star Wars. Why is every SW humanoid between 3-7 feet tall. I liked in SW Clone Wars that there was one commander (in one three episode arc) like 10 inches tall. Why are the leaders always big and buff. I guess they made Bumblebee leader. But I would love to see someone like Eject or Rattrap to be the respected leader, despite size.

That is just off the top of my head, and I can’t think of any others.

That is five. Like I said, it is actually a good discussion if people chime in and support their points. It just might not be the right place under WJ lists, because you can't do a top 5 if you only have five. I suppose you could, but it might be better just out in the standard forums.

I know there are like 20 different versions of Megatron. And Japanese leaders, but I don’t know them.

Who did I miss?

I don’t know, just because you were leader for an episode I don’t know if that makes you a leader. Isn’t there already a thread like best Decepticon leader? People tend to just list one or two that they like.

You could say best Decepticon commander, that would include all combiner leaders. But is there enough fiction to support and enough talk about, and will enough people contribute to a discussion. Again, I am all for it. It simply might not have enough momentum behind it.

Wait! I just got it! (And after I spent a page writing “no, it might not work.”)

Someone could do:

“Best Decepticon Leader Depiction”
or
“Best Decepticon Villain Depiction”

Just off the top of my head, without browsing fiction or my collection, something like:

1. BW Megatron – Cold, calculating, unique character, entertaining, funny,
2. IDW Megatron – fighting for a righteous cause, has history and camaraderie, switches sides…
3. TF Prime Megatron – vicious, cruel, maybe the coldest Megatron….
4. G1 Cartoon Starscream – conniving, backstabbing, cowardly (not a good trait for leadership, but true to life, and makes sense for villains, thus adds to the character)
5. G1 Shockwave – very interesting to see what cold logic does in contrast to passionate and emotional Megatron.
6. G1 Cartoon Megatron – I liked how he had a positive relationship with Laserbeak and Ravage. Leaders, even evil ones, typically have charisma. They need to inspire their troops, even for bad things, the troops typically need to believe in their leader. Sure they can rule with fear, but part of the population should be like Lugnut. The villain should be positive sometime.

The one about repaints that ruined great toys is really interesting. I had not thought of it. Could you give me an example to get a sense of what the list would look like?
