The Transformers app for mobile devices which was used for the fan-built combiner has been updated and repurposed with the 2015 Hall of Fame nominations! Three categories are up for grabs, with three nominees each:

• Favorite Character (Galvatron, Optimus Primal, Prowl)
  
• Best Combiner Character (Bruticus, Devastator, Predaking - strangely shown in the Beast Hunters incarnation)
  
• Best Musical Act (Ford Kinder and Anne Bryant - creators of the Transformers theme; Vince DiCola - general score composer; Weird Al - song and voice contributor).

In addition, you can also browse the bios sections for more information on each of the characters - the robots, not the humans. Check out some screeshots from the app below!

Ahem...You mean THIS Predaking?

Yep! As I said in the post, and as the bio also states - that is the Predaking they mean.
No idea why BH is in there instead..

Probably because that's the most recent 'bot to use the Predaking name.

I'm sad I can't vote. Really want the Boss Munky in but it'll probably be Prowl who takes the spot.

They also used Energon Galvatron and Cybertron ape Optimus Prime. The Energon Glavatron is excusable since the hall of fame usually applies to different versions of the same character, but the Optimus Prime inclusion over an actual Primal is just as lazy as the use of BH Predaking.

Very close to the Strafe mix-up on the AoE Evolution packs, really.
I do wonder who chooses the images for these.

I would think so, though depending on whether BW Megatron was included in the Megatron Hall of Fame display you might have a point.

Why not? He was commander of the Axalon in Beast Wars and leader during Beast Machines. Also temporarily held Optimus Prime's spark which "upgraded" him into his Optimal Optimus form during the latter.

Since BW Megatron wasn't lumped into the Megatron Hall of Fame display, I'm inclined to agree.

Really either of the BW leaders could be contenders, since they are greatly different from the regular portrayals of their respective characters.

Probably just as well. Classics/Generations/G1 Predaking doesn't have a whole lot of representation compared to the others, so I doubt he'd win.

How come Seibertron.com didn't partake in the Hall of Fame's first round of voting this year?

Im gonna have to go with Prowl, Devastator and the people who wrote the original Transformers theme. Even now, anytime I hear that song, it makes me smile and remember the happy, simple, childlike wonder of my youth hehe.

I miss the little montage videos each character used to have during the Botcon HOF presentations.

What songs would these characters have?

I can't vote since I neither have the app nor Internet on my phone (always prefer a laptop or a desktop), but if I could, I'd go with Primal, Predaking, and Anne Bryant/Ford Kinder.

I mean, come on, its written best COMBINER, that Predaking version doesn't even combine!!! Couldn't someone tell that the artwork was totally different from the rest and didnt make any sense. This really looks like a friday night rush job.

When the first round of voting was going on back in April, there was no involvement in it from this site (as far as I could tell).

Your post suggests to me that this was because the general attitude towards the Hall of Fame is that it's become a joke not worth bothering with anymore, or so I presume.

Strange how in the Musical Act entry the most famous musician had the least impact on the brand while the most unknown created one of the best known theme.


While it's maddening that they used the wrong image for Predaking, it doesn't surprise me given some of the other similar mistakes of recent years (i.e. orange Jihaxus, SG Heatwave, several Kreons getting the wrong faction symbol). Meanwhile, Movieverse Lockdown is pretty faithful to the original.

Why is Prime Predaking pictured in the app instead of G1 Predaking?

Either way, if my phone could run the app I would vote for Optimus Primal for the normal character, Devastator for the Combiner and Vince DiCola for the musical person.

While Weird Al and Vince DiCola are the more recognizable names here, Anne Bryant's contribution is far more notable to the legacy of the Transformers brand. She's the one who came up with the theme songs for Transformers, GI Joe, Jem and others. It's the original theme song that set the tone for the original series and subsequent songs about Transformers.
