In other event news, we back across the pond to the UK, and TFNation 2017 - with their first guest announcement: IDW colourist and artist Josh Perez! Read more below on Bumblebee's biggest fan, and one of the staples of the IDWverse.

Operation: First 2017 Guest

We are super-excited to reveal that Transformers colourist extraordinaire Josh Perez will be making his UK TF convention debut at TFNation 2017!

Josh began his time with the Cybertronians by providing colours for several Dreamwave titles, most notably various issues of Transformers: Energon and Transformers: Micromasters.

With the dawn of IDW, Josh was able to apply his talents to a wealth of new material, starting with the darkest of all backstories, Megatron Origins. He went on to add his very own (All)spark of magic to several movie-verse titles such as The Reign of Starscream and Tales of the Fallen. Afterwards, he hopped back to the regular IDW-verse to breathe life into a new fan favourite in the Drift mini series.

Josh is perhaps best known for his work on the Transformers: Robots in Disguise comic series where he served as regular colourist for most of the run – even the book’s name change couldn’t stop him! A keen Transformers: Animated fan, Josh also provided some additional character designs for The Complete AllSpark Almanac.

Josh will be signing autographs and selling sketches and artwork in our guest area all weekend. Just don’t be surprised if you catch him chowing down on a slice of pizza at his desk… he tells us it’s essential.

Launch tickets, bedrooms, pricing, further guests and activities will be announced in the coming months. Keep monitoring this frequency. If you want to ensure all communications are intercepted, join our mailing list at https://tfnation.com

Operation: A New Light

Making his first appearance at a Transformers convention, we are thrilled to announce artist and creator Jack Lawrence as a guest of TFNation 2017!

Jack first came to the attention of TF fans through his work with the TRANSMASTERS community in the 1990s, working with the likes of Nick Roche and James Roberts. His comics journey has come full circle recently, joining James and Alex Milne as part of the new creative team for the MTMTE follow-up LOST LIGHT, issue#1 of which will be released shortly.

Along the way, Jack has worked for a wide range of publishers, from Dark Horse to Image comics, Panini, 2000ad and many more, covering characters such as TMNT, Dr Who, Sinister Dexter, Skylanders and Jackie Chan... Tell us you wouldn’t like to see those last two in a crossover! In addition, you can also find Jack’s work in many reference books, from the likes of Eaglemoss Publications and Hatchette UK.

Fans of independent comics may also be familiar with Jack’s ongoing collaboration with Adam Lawrence, TINPOT HOBO, following a crew of Custodians as they try to enforce the law in the chaos of space. For those unfamiliar with the project, check out the official website at http://www.tinpothobo.com/home.html where you can find character bios, ship descriptions and much more about this well thought out and immersive universe.

Jack will be signing autographs and selling sketches and artwork in our guest area all weekend. Launch tickets, bedrooms, pricing, further guests and activities will be announced in the coming months. Keep monitoring this frequency.

I might wait until a guest voice actor is announced before I make a decision about going to TFNation this year. There are other events throughout the year I want to go to in 2017 as well, so I don't think I'll have the money for it all anyway, but we'll see.

Operation: Two guest announcements?
.
The TFNation crew wish you all a Merry Christmas and, in celebration of this festive season, we have two announcements lined up. The first is to announce that one of our most popular guests will be returning for next year’s event.
.
JOHN-PAUL BOVE to attend TFNation 2017
.
Currently bringing colour to classic UK stories as part of Hachette’s Hachette Transformers: The Definitive Collection, John-Paul Bove is not only an extremely talented colourist and writer, but his positive and engaging approach to meeting members of the Transformers community represents much of what the TFNation team work towards…. So it’s no surprise that JP is the first returning guest we are pleased to announce!
.
John-Paul was the principle colourist for Transformers: ReGeneration One, including its’ stunning issue zero, Drift: Empire of Stone, several Bot Con comics and a host of cover colours for many other IDW transformer titles. Outside of Transformers, John-Paul’s work has graced subjects including G.I. Joe, Dr Who, Action Man and Judge Dredd.
.
As a writer he has lent his talents to the likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as the Beast Wars BotCon 2016 story “Dawn of the Predacus. He has also written and coloured his own independent one-shot comic, UNEARTH - https://www.comixology.com/UnEarth/digital-comic/260925
.
If that news doesn’t leave you full of cheer this festive season, just image JP and Perez, sat in our convention, cooking up mischief….. good isn’t it?
.
Present no.2? Well that is the announcement of our first voice actor guest for TFNation 2017. Expect that gift to be flying your way, on 1st January.

Dear attendees,

Your road to TFNation 2017 just got real.
This will be a longer and more detailed post than usual, because we have a lot of information to convey, and we want to do this as clearly as possible. Over the next few weeks, we will be releasing more posts on this topic, to answer any questions that arise.

OVERVIEW: TFNATION 2017 TICKET RELEASE SCHEDULE

11th January 2017 – We will announce our updated ticket pricing for 2017.
18th January 2017 - We will announce prices of the TFNation allocation of Hilton hotel rooms, along with advice on booking your stay at the Hilton, or elsewhere.
1st February 2017 - We will release TFNation 2017 tickets for general sale. (Exact time to be confirmed nearer the date).

Applications for The Forge and for other events such as our Cosplay competition will be announced at a later date. Likewise, volunteer applications shall be dealt with later.

TICKET TYPES AND PRICES

After our first year, we have looked at our ticketing structure and made some adjustments, based on attendee feedback.
WEEKEND TICKETS will still afford access to the entire convention from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th August, with entry times to be confirmed. This includes access to the Saturday night event. A weekend ticket is the ONLY ticket which will grant you access to the Friday programme and the Saturday night event. Weekend tickets also give you earlier access to the trading hall on both SATURDAY and SUNDAY.

DAY TICKETS will be available from the first day of sales. This year we will be introducing a SATURDAY ticket as well as the SUNDAY ticket. Day tickets will allow you access to the hall and convention activities, with a delayed entry time (compared to the weekend ticket), on either SATURDAY or SUNDAY. They will NOT grant access to the Friday programme or the Saturday night event.
To clarify, FRIDAY is a non-trading day and we will NOT be releasing day tickets for this date. Access to Friday’s convention events will be for weekend ticket-holders only.

AGE BRACKETS
We will be expanding the age range for free child tickets, allowing more adults (the big kids) the chance to bring their families with them. Further details to follow.

TICKET PRICES
Due to the impact of Brexit (many of our guests and suppliers are based overseas) as well as our desire to implement more ideas, we will be amending our adult ticket prices. As a fully registered UK company, we have to ensure we are run efficiently… but as members of the community ourselves, we’d rather let you know that there will be a price adjustment ahead of time.

USING THE TFNATION SITE TO BOOK TICKETS
This section is incredibly important, so please read it carefully.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE TFNATION SITE, you simply need to head over to www.tfnation.com on release day, to book your tickets. Once your payment is received, the website will automatically create an account for you, to make the process easier for you in the future.

IF YOU HAVE AN EXISTING PROFILE, please sign in and check your information is up to date BEFORE release day. If you cannot remember your password then there is an option to reset it.

PLEASE NOTE – everybody who booked a ticket to TFNation 2016 should already have a website profile. We strongly recommend that you go to the website NOW, to check that you know your log in details. If you have forgotten your log in, the TFNation Tech-Bots will have more opportunity to help you now, than if you wait until the date tickets go on sale, when our team will be incredibly busy.
The following issues were all experienced by attendees last year, in the months after booking tickets:
1) Signed up under a fake name (to preserve identity) and then forgot fake name meaning they could no longer access the website.
2) Booked ticket under a friend’s profile then forgot which friend or assumed they had booked themselves.
3) Used parental email (for security) and then forgot their details.
4) Changed email server due to house/job changes, but did not update TFNation with their new email address.
If you think any of these issues may apply to you, we advise you to try to log in as soon as possible.
Remember, if you cannot retrieve your log in details, the TFNation Tech-Bots can assist. We simply ask that you please do you best to minimise their workload, by checking BEFORE ticket release day. If you fail to check your details now, and then find you cannot log in on release day, you may well miss out on that all important hotel room.

HOTEL ROOMS
Once an attendee has purchased their ticket, they will then be directed to a TFNation section of the Hilton’s booking website. We will explain this process (and hotel room prices) in more detail closer to the time.
We will also provide information on alternative accommodation as we expect the Hilton allocation to sell out very quickly.

GUESTS, EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
Over the next 9 months, we will be rolling out more guests, including voice actors and other notable members of the Transformers community. Along with this, we will also be providing more information on the convention’s structure, as well as guides to travel and advice on how you can submit your own ideas for TFNation 2017.

Operation: Venus Terzo to attend TFNation 2017

Joining UK fans for the very first time, we are pleased to announce the incredibly talented Venus Terzo, Beast Wars Blackarachnia, will be attending TFNation 2017!

Blazing a trail for the multi-layered female characters who followed in her path, Blackarachnia’s long journey, from Beast Wars’ ruthless, self-serving, rebel Predacon to the Maximal-aligned Beast Machines force of nature, has seen the character achieve a special place in fan’s hearts. Her later dedication to Cybertron, and her relationship with Spark-mate Silverbolt, were elements decades ahead of MTMTE’s own examinations of loyalty and friendship, and are as relevant now as they have ever been.

Apart from her Transformers work, Venus’ acting versatility is reflected in the sheer quality and scale of her filmography. She is well-known for voicing My Little Pony’s Rainbow Dash across numerous features, the female version of Ranma ½, Jean Grey in X-Men: Evolution, the iconic Sorceress (and evil Critta) in The New Adventures of He-Man, and Gigagirl in Reboot. Then add in Biiko Daitokuji in Project A-Ko, G.I. Joe’s Jinx, Death Note’s Wedy, Princess Lana in Captain N: The Game Master and Talia Gladys in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, and that’s just a selection of her animated work.

Venus’s on-screen appearances are even more numerous, including Arrow, Minority Report, Supernatural, Continuum, Sanctuary, Andromeda, and Stargate SG-1. Mainstream audiences will also know Venus from Blackstone, Badge of Honour, The Guard and her long-running role as Detective Angela Kosmo on Da Vinci’s Inquest , along with numerous other TV Movie and episodic work.

It’s worth noting, for fans of darker series, that Venus has also appeared in The Masters of Horror, The Dead Zone and The Twilight Zone and even appeared in the original TV series adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

Venus will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking part in panels during our convention, which will run from Friday 11th and Sunday 13st August 2017.

Operation: Bob Budiansky to attend TFNation 2017

We are honoured to announce that Bob Budiansky, the man who started the Transformer mythos and gave us so many of the iconic characters we enjoy today, will be joining us for his first UK Transformer event, at TFNation 2017.

Bob’s history goes back to the early 1970’s after his reintroduction to the world of comic books. A passion he would late turn into a lifelong career.

As an editor, illustrator, and writer, mostly for Marvel, Bob witnessed, first hand, some of the most defining years in the industry. He edited titles like Spider-Man, Daredevil and the Fantastic Four and contributed many covers to other titles across the Marvel universe. His involvement on Ghost Rider (with Dave Simons and Roger Stern) spans a period many fans considered as a defining era in the character's history and he created and wrote his own series, Sleepwalker.

And then, there are the Transformers…

Approached by Hasbro in 1983 to create a story line around a series of transforming toy robots, Marvel’s initial material was rejected before Bob stepped in, renaming most of the characters and revising personalities for the likes of Megatron, the Dinobots, Wheeljack, and countless others. He edited the very first Transformers mini-series in 1984 and scripted most of the next 50-plus issues of the US run. He also named and created the character profiles for over 250 of the Transformer toys (yes, the original tech specs) during the first six years of the brand’s existence, developing new story treatments as Hasbro introduced new lines of Transformers. On top of all this, he occasionally even pencilled a Transformers comic book cover or two. Bob’s work on Transformers doesn’t just end there though as he returned to the franchise to write IDW’s Transformers The Movie 20th Anniversary miniseries.
Bob Budiansky will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking part in panels during our convention, which will run from Friday 11th and Sunday 13th August 2017.

Further transmissions to follow, including an update on 28/01 on the latest ticket and hotel details.

NEW INFORMATION - EXTRA HOTEL ROOMS

As many of you have seen from our recent photographs, several members of the TFNation crew recently visited the Hilton to perform preparations for this year’s event. Whilst there we were able to discuss the issues some attendees have raised with bedrooms.

In an attempt to facilitate as many of our attendees as possible, the Hilton has generously provided us with some additional bedrooms for the nights around our convention nights. There will now be accommodation available at the discounted rate on the following nights;

Wednesday 9th August 2017
Thursday 10th August 2017
Friday 11th August 2017
Saturday 12th August 2017
Sunday 13th August 2017
Monday 14th August 2017
Tuesday 15th August 2017

It is very important to note that due to high demand in the area (owing to the Festival of Quilts, and other events) the amount of rooms we will be allocated for these additional nights is likely to be extremely limited. There will be no “top up” rooms made available later – once they are gone, that is likely to be it.

As previously mentioned, only the three convention nights are contracted to us – we are therefore incredibly grateful for the Hilton agreeing to release additional nights at a discounted rate, when they were fully entitled to sell them at full value.

NEW INFORMATION – FAMILY ROOMS AND DISABLED ACCESS ROOMS

Our allocation will now include a small number of family rooms, which will also be presented at a discounted rate. Please note these are ONLY to be booked by families and not by single attendees. Please be mindful of those whose entire weekend depends on this room type.

NEW INFORMATION– TICKET SALES TIME

As previously advised, tickets and hotels rooms will go on general sale on 1st February 2017. We can now confirm that we aim to open sales at 6pm GMT.

For our international friends, this works out as follows;

7pm CET
1pm EST
12pm CST
10am PST
5am AEDT Thursday 2nd
7am NZDT Thursday 2nd

We hope this will provide as many people as possible with a good chance of securing a ticket and that all important bedroom.

Operation: Kei Zama to attend TFNation 2017

With IDW’s universe of Transformers comics going from strength to strength, the depth of talent involved in creating them grows ever greater and now we at TFNation are pleased to bring more of that greatness to you, in the form of Kei Zama, returning for our second year.

Starting with her series of covers for IDW’s Transformer line in September 2015, Kei-sensei has rapidly gained a large fan following, due to her mean and gritty artistic style, as well as her stunning commission work. Following on from her cover work, she is now bringing the continuing adventures of Optimus Prime to life (along with writer John Barber and colourist Josh Burcham) in his current titular series.

Outside of Transformers, Kei-sensei made her Marvel comics art debut with last year’s Scarlet Witch #10, has provided art for Sparklight comics, as well as covers for IDW’s Atomic Robo, and recently achieved a personal dream in working on an ABC Warriors-related piece for Fleetway/2000ad. Her Blackblood-themed story (written by the mighty Patt Mills) is set to show off her undeniable talent for monochrome imagery and prove a perfect fit for the tone of this title.

We advise all our attendees to keep an eye on Kei-sensei’s blog http://steelandstarlight.com/ for details of her commission list, as the event draws closer.

Kei Zama will be signing autographs, discussing classic British rock bands and selling artwork (including her highly-prized sketchbooks) at TFNation 2017 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. We look forward to seeing you there!

TFNation 2017 The Forge Applications Open

by Va'al
Are you a creator of fan art, merch, crafts and just generally artsy things to do with Transformers? Would you like to show off your wares this summer at TFNation 2017? The Forge is returning to the event, and the applications are open now! Find out more information below, and good luck if you choose to apply.

Transmission Initiated
Transmission ID:00010

Operation: The Forge Returns for TFNation 2017

TFNation is not only pleased to announce that The Forge is returning for TFNation 2017, but also that applications are now open!

The Forge, located in a specially designated room just outside of the main convention hall, is our home for fan art and crafts and shall be joined this year by various other features, details to be announced in future transmissions. The Forge is an area for our creative attendees to promote, display and sell their work.

Here is how it works...

STAGE 1 - MAKE AN APPLICATION

Aspiring Forge artists and crafters are required to pre-register their interest by completing the application form linked below.

You must be aged 16 or above to make an application. You do not need to have booked a ticket at this stage - you are free to apply before making that decision.

Successful applicants will receive an email inviting them to make a formal booking. Applicants who are not successful this time will be notified and will be welcome to apply again in future years.

TFNation staff will allow a grace period of 14 days, until March 13th, before reviewing applications. This is to allow as many people as possible the chance to apply. All applications will be reviewed by TFNation staff. If necessary, applications will remain open after March 13th until all spaces are sold.

Space will once again be limited, so we recommend getting your applications in as soon as you can.

STAGE 2 - PAY FOR YOUR TABLE

If your application is successful, you will then be able to book your table.

Both Forge Craft and Forge Artist Alley stalls cost £25.00, including built in insurance. You must also hold a valid TFNation 2017 full weekend ticket.

If you do not hold a weekend ticket then one shall automatically be added to your Forge booking. If you have already purchased a day ticket and your Forge application is approved, then your ticket will be automatically upgraded to a Weekend ticket for an additional price.

Full terms and conditions will be available at the time of booking - but here are the important things you need to know about each table type.

FORGE CRAFT STALLS

- For attendees to promote, display and sell any hand-made craft items. Up to three individuals may share a single Forge Craft Stall.

- Stalls cost £25.00.
- Stalls are only available to attendees who have purchased a weekend ticket.
- Some crafters produce art prints of their creations. We are happy to allow these, however toys, sketches and art commissions may not be sold here. This is to protect our artists and traders who have invested a lot of time and money into their stalls.

FORGE ARTIST ALLEY STALLS

- For attendees to promote and display any art prints, sketches and art commissions.

- Artist Alley stalls are for one person only.
- Stalls cost £25.00.

Operation: Sara Pitre-Durocher to attend TFNation 2017

It gives us great pleasure to announce that the artist for IDW’s TILL ALL ARE ONE, Sara Pitre-Durocher, will be making her European convention debut at TFNation 2017!

Sara first came to the attention of the TF comic fans in early 2015 with a series of stunning covers for MTMTE, WINDBLADE and RID before providing interior artwork for the one-shot COMBINER HUNTERS. After guesting on a few single issues, 2016 saw the start of TILL ALL ARE ONE, with Sara as the resident series artist. Covering the struggles of a rebuilt Cybertronian society, Starscream has never looked so delightfully devious!

As an art director at Volta creative studios, TF fans will also have seen Sara’s work elsewhere as she provided colours for many of the Combiner Wars figure packaging art and contributed work to the Transformers Legends mobile game, as well as several other iOS and browser titles.

We advise all our attendees to keep an eye on Sara’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/spewpew/ for details of her commission list, as the event draws closer.

Sara will be signing autographs, talking Starscream, hugging Combaticon fans and selling artwork at TFNation 2017 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. We look forward to seeing you there!

Operation: Hal Rayle and Maggie Roswell to attend TFNation 2017

We are honoured to announce two very special guests for #TFNation 2017 as the husband and wife team of Hal Rayle and Maggie Roswell join UK fans for the very first time, for something a little different!

To #Transformers fans, Hal is best known as G1 Snarl – the surly Stegosaurus member of the #Dinobots. A character so tough he was actually created to bring his fellow Dinobots in line!

In addition to voicing the coolest set of solar panels to grace a 80’s kids toy, Hal also voiced Shrapnel throughout the G1 series and the 1986 Transformers Animated movie, (not so tough, we admit) the reptilian Skuxxoid race (relatively tough, depending on payments owed) and finally the VERY TOUGH AND VERY MUCH ALIVE #Autobot Pipes in Five Faces of Darkness.

Outside of Transformers, Hal's work could be heard in a number of classic 80s and 90s animations, voicing Arzon in #Visionaries, Deep Six in Action Force, Prince Kro-Tan in Defenders of the Earth, Lieutenant Commander Steel in Swat Kats and numerous other appearances in shows such as Galaxy High, #TMNT and Universal Animation's Back to the Future, in which he clocked up over 65 separate voices alone.

In live-action projects, Hal has leant his voice to many strange creatures including the #Predator in Predator2, all the Ghoulies in Ghoulies and, as his first IMDB credit, voicing an Ewok in Caravan of Courage.

Given our attendees are displaying a growing interest in the technicalities behind the mic of voice acting, we couldn't resist the opportunity to bring in someone from the biggest animated series of all time. So it gives us great pleasure in welcoming The Simpsons very own Maggie Roswell to our robotic world.

Maggie has been a part of The #Simpsons since the very beginning, voicing regulars Maude Flanders, Helen Lovejoy, Luann Van Houten, and Elizabeth Hoover as well as dozens of supporting and guest characters across more than 175 episodes. Her impact on the show is so great that when she took a temporary leave from the show it resulted in the death of one of those characters!

Beyond #Springfield, Maggie’s career is extremely diverse with vocal work for the likes of Mighty Mouse, Darkwing Duck, the feature Fire and Ice and Animaniacs, alongside onscreen performances in shows such as L.A. Law, Remington Steele, Happy Days, #Dynasty, Quantum Leap, Mork & Mindy and many more.

That last show indirectly ties into another of Maggie’s interests: improv. Over a long career, Maggie has improvised with the likes of Robin Williams, John Ritter, Joey Bishop, Phil Foster, John Larouquette and, later, Dan “Homer” Castellaneta, and performed on Broadway with the hit Sills and Company.

Today, Maggie and Hal manage Roswell ‘n’ Rayle Studios, working with a host of international brands on projects that cover multiple aspects of the audio industry, including coaching, casting, demos, post and developing new media.

From G1 Dinobots, Visionaries and Ninja Turtles, to Helen Lovejoy, Sharry Bobins and Queen Elizabeth the Second (yes, we have not forgotten that) Hal and Maggie will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking part in panels during our convention, which will run from Friday 11th to Sunday 13st August 2017.

Further transmissions to follow.

Yet another update from the folks over at TFNation, the UK's biggest Transformers fan event, featuring a new guest announcement for the 2017 edition of the convention: Tumblr-pandering (his t-shirt says so), tear smoothie-drinker, More Than Meets the Eye and Lost Light writer James Roberts! Check out more info below.

We are delighted to reveal Transformers comic writer James Roberts will be joining us once again, at TFNation 2017!

One for the booklovers, James is best known to the fandom as the writer of the highly acclaimed comic series MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE and its much loved successor LOST LIGHT, where he works alongside fellow TFNation 2017 guest Jack Lawrence.

An early member of the Transmasters UK community, James came to the forefront after the publication of his (massive) fanfiction EUGENESIS. ALL HAIL MEGATRON #15 saw James’ first professional Transformers contribution, but it was his work alongside Nick Roche on LAST STAND OF THE WRECKERS which really put him on the Cybertronian map.

Our mutual friend James Roberts will be signing autographs, hurting your feels and selling scripts at TFNation 2017, which is based at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.

The lineup grows… we look forward to seeing you there!

Another update from the fine folks of TFNation, concerning another guest for their second ever convention - taking place this August in Bimingham, UK: IDW artist from More Than Meets the Eye and several more odd jobs across the TF board, Alex Milne! Check out more info below.

Operation: Alex Milne kicks in the door to TFNation 2017

Since we announced Josh Perez will be in attendance at our 2017 event, a certain artist has been practically kicking in our door to join him! So it gives us great pleasure to announce that Alex Milne will be breaching our defences and motoring into TFNation 2017 to join his partner in crime!

Alex is a long time Transformers creator, having provided big bot battles with Devil's Due, Fun Publications and Dreamwave. As the main artist for IDW's TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE, it is through Alex's artwork that many memorable moments of the IDW canon have been played out in recent years. Life, death, love, hate, justice and betrayal… and that was just his first DJD issue! When comic readers think of characters like Skids, Cyclonus, Tailgate and Megatron, Alex's work is never far from their minds!

Our attendees will no doubt be eager to learn of Alex's future involvement in MTMTE's sequel, LOST LIGHT. In addition to this, we are excited to learn more from Alex about his recent work on the ROM / TRANSFORMERS crossover!

We urge fans to follow Alex on his twitter @markerguru for details of his commission list, as his work is always is high demand.

Alex Milne will be signing autographs, selling artwork and cuddling Josh Perez tightly at TFNation 2017, which is based at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. They'll be there – will you?

Transformers Writer Simon Furman to Attend TFNation 2017

The latest update from TFNation comes as another guest announcement, and another that was inevitable to happen - Simon Furman, the Marvel US, UK, Dreamwave, IDW writer (and for many more still) of Transformers fiction! Check out more info below.

Transmission ID: 00016
TFNation_2017
Operation: Simon Furman to attend TFNation 2017

For the last three decades, Simon Furman has been one of, if not THE most significant contributors to Transformers lore. Be it comics, television, movies, or games, Simon's influence is still being felt today. From his direct involvement with publications and interactive media, to the ongoing comic stories which have grown out of the rich continuity he pioneered at IDW, Simon's power is beyond measure.

Probably of most current significance to fans, Simon is involved in The Definitive Transformers Generation One Collection from Hachette, crafting the most comprehensive collection of Transformers fiction to date and, with the help of fellow TFNation guest John-Paul Bove, making it look better than ever.

Fans old and new of the Marvel-era material will not want to miss the chance to see both Simon Furman and fellow guest Bob Budiansky, essentially the fathers of Transformers as we know it, at their first dedicated UK convention together!

Simon's body of work outside of Transformers is almost as vast as a predatory bird, with varied comics titles such as Scream, Alpha Flight, What If...?, Thundercats, Doctor Who and much more, and television projects like Dan Dare, Matt Hatter Chronicals, and X-Men Evolution, which also starred fellow Beast Wars co-worker and TFNation guest Venus Terzo as Jean Grey.

Not content to stop there, Simon has collaborated with Transformers legend Geoff Senior to create the cult Brit-classic Dragon's Claws, recent internet sensation To The Death, and of course, our beloved Freelance Peace-Keeper; Death's Head! It never ends!!

Simon's current adventures are detailed on his blog over at: https://simonfurman.wordpress.com and is well worth following!

Simon will be signing autographs and selling comics and script packs from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th August 2017 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at TFNation 2017. We look forward to seeing you there!

Further transmissions to follow.
