Via the Instagram account of Aaron Archer, we have learned of the retirement of one of the foundations of the Transformers lines, along with the Micro-Robots in Micronauts, and the designs for G1 Optimus Prime, Ravage, Scourge, Perceptor - plus the contact between Hasbro and Takara Tomy in their early days: Hideaki Yoke.

This is Yoke san. Tonight I was privileged to celebrate his retirement from Takara/Tomy. Yoke san is TRANSFORMERS! Yoke san helped design G1 Optimus Prime, Perceptor, Scourge and others, He shepherded the Transformers partnership between Takara/Tomy and Hasbro since 1983. He was there for every toy product and every piece of media since the beginning.

For a second, I was afraid that this news was gonna say that he has passed away. So relieved that that isn't the case.
