How Did You Get Into Transformers?

Everyone must have had some introduction to Transformers or else we wouldn't be here. I thought it'd be cool to hear some stories from people.
I've only been into Transformers for about 2 1/2 years. My dad bought the complete G1 cartoon for me for Christmas in 2014 and I wasn't too enthusiastic about it. My dad and I watched the the beginning five parter sometime later and I HATED it. I remember I absolutely couldn't stand Soundwave. I thought he was the stupidest thing I had ever seen. A couple months later, I had nothing to watch and felt guilty that my dad bought me this show and I never watched it. So I went back to it, and I still hated it. Until the episode Fire In The Sky. I watched it, and I remember thinking "it wasn't that bad". I guess things just spiraled out from there, because the next I knew, I was crazy about Transformers. I moved on to other shows, read the comics, bought toys, realized that Soundwave was actually amazing, and here I am now.
So, how did you get into this world of giant alien robots that we have all grown to love?
