I can't believe I had to approve this post for that stupid meme craze. The sooner this fad runs its course the better.
(Kudos for the pic though)

But it's a meme that can cover any fanbase, and any domestic item? You do you, I guess...

Ohhhhkay... I get it now. The original joke anyways. But unless Windblade on a shovel is ironic or a parody, I'm stumped.

Seriously? That's called a spade where I come from. Unless you're being ironic?
Oh, and thanks Kurona and Wreckerjack! Anyone else?

Can't speak for others but to me, that was a shovel, a spade is slightly smaller and used for potting or other small digging jobs that require little leverage.

Same here, that's a Spade (the word is the same in Dutch though we pronounce it differently ofcourse) Narrower, with a sharp edge and a point for digging.
The other thing is a Shovel (or Schep). Broad, hollow, and used for moving loose earth and small rubble (for instance, from 1 pile to the other one).

Thank you! I guess everyone else was just being 'ironic'

I wasn't, I call that a shovel and I am certain most Canadians do ad well. Many nations speak English and they all have their own take on things, it's not a given that everyone will think the same way and it shouldn't be assumed.

You are right, of course. I was referring to the fact they had heard of a spade, and weren't connecting the two. That, and the motto about "To troll, or be sincere"?
