The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast picks up with the revised and expanded edition of what you heard about in episode 208, as Scotty P and Megatronus dive head first into the "Super Car" era of Transformers Masterpiece toys. This is the first chapter of this focused retrospective, covering the first two molds of the era and their various repaints and retoolings.

Here's what we talk about during this episode:

• Black Convoy starts out the repaint talk, which features us just nearly forgetting about Platinum Edition Year of the Horse Optimus Prime!
• Even the odder repaints get talked about, along with the appeal of such non-standard pieces and where they fit in collections. BAPE, the Evangelion Crossover, and the recent 7-11 Convoy all get a look. And what's all this about a trailer?
• After an hour on the least car-like Autobot of the "Super Car" era, we finally move on to the toy that launched a revolution, MP-12 Lambor, more commonly known as Sideswipe.
  
  
• The retooled follow-up MP-14 Red Alert comes next in the discussion, and even includes some inaccurate speculation on the face designs from yours truly - see if you can find where I'm wrong and post the evidence of why by replying to this post. The truth is out there.
• 8 versions of the Lamborghini Countach Masterpiece mold have been released in total, and we look at all of them, from TF Expo Lambor, to Diaclone-like Clampdown and Tigertrack, on to G2 Sideswipe, then wrapping up with a quick look at the recent "+" versions of Sideswipe and Red Alert.

A few minor points:

TRU MP Prime was $100 at release, not $120. The second large stocking that came in November was bumped to $120 in most stores and $150 in very rich areas.

Also, MP-10B does not have a molded decepticon symbol

Lastly: where the heck is this light blue Chinese shipping company recolor? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

All good points! If I had to record this one again I would have gotten out all my MP-10 variations and had them right there like I did for the Sideswipes and Red Alerts.

Why is there a pervasive view that Tracks is bad? Why are people wrong?

They don't know how to do the backpack. It is a little fiddly, to be fair. I think it all boils down to that.

The side mirrors are also annoying and love to fall out even when trimmed properly.

Neither of these things make Tracks bad though, I think he just wasn't as popular because he's a 1985 character.

I hold my hands up, I didn't know about the panels on Sideswipe's legs!

Really enjoyed this episode (and the previous Masterpiece focused episode). Would be fantastic if you did the same style thing for Classics/Universe/Generations.

I love Sideswipe, and I do want a G2 version. That mold looks so slick in 90's maximum gunslinger mode!

I have a friend who waited an eternity for blue Bluestreak, and he was not disappointed.

I need a Wheeljack in my life. I looked that guy over when he came out, and I need an original. He is too good to not have personally.
