Optimus Z wrote:I used to watch and play with transformers when i was younger. When i saw the teaser for the new movie i watched a few G1 shows online. I found all of the beast wars on youtube and watched them all in about 4 days. Amazing show. The character devolpment the cgi for that time the twist in turns the action. I loved it. At first I thought it would be for a younger audience because I remember watching it on TV as a kid but good thing I was wrong. The ending was funny too.
Glad you liked it. Beast Wars is pretty much what got me back into Transformers. I thought the show was really well written.
A few questions though. 1) Is Beast Machines a sequal? Did Wazzy change the time continum or anything?
Yes, Beast Machines is the sequel to Beast Wars, and picks up where it left off. It takes place entirely on Cybertron. I recommend watching it.
2) How come transformers that transform into things pick their name, like Rattrap turned into a rat and picked that name, wouldn't he of had another name before? Megatron and Optimus did.
I don't have a definitive answer for this one. It's not really something they went into.
3) How come the clone of dinobot has his personality? That doesn't make sense to me because I thought his spark was destroyed?
Okay, good question. Not one that many picked up on. This was to be explained in a show that was written, but never actually produced. In the episode where Dinobot dies, you see him downloading something into the main computer. This was to be picked up upon in a later episode, sort of a backdoor to the character if they ever needed it. In the third season, an episode was written call "Dark Glass" in which Rattrap finds the program and discovers that it's backup copy of Dinobots personality. He then goes out on a quest to save Dinobot by downloading the personality into Dinobot 2. This episode was never produced, because the producers believed that the season was too dark already. So they produced a more light hearted episode to replace it.
4) When they are going to the Nemesis Megatron says something like "The most powerful ship in transformers history!" Did they ever refer to themselves as transformers before? I thought they were cybertronions or whatever.
Their race, in general, has always been known as Transformers.
5)What is the history behind Tarantulus he said destroying the ship wouldn't alter him because he is from a different origin. Is that ever figured out?
As indicated in the episode, Tarantulas and the Tripredacus Council are decended from a different race other than the Decepticons. It was never fully explained which race this was. The leading theories are either they're decended from Unicron - as in one episode Megatron calls Tarantulas "Unicron Spawn". Though it isn't known if Megatron was being literal, or just making an insult like "Son of a B...". The other theory involves the incorporation of the Gen 2 comic (which is something I tend to stray away from since this is cartoon cannon), in which they are decended from the Gen 2 Decepticons and the Liege Maximo. This theory is more out there than I'm willing to get into, however.
6) Did they ever put the real megatron spark inside of the original megatron?
Yes, this scene was cut from the episode however, and was just implied. You can probably view this cut scene through youtube, and I believe there's a video on BWTF.com in the BW section. I'll try and find it.
7) Did old megatrons spark and new one fuse together or the energy just made his "protype" stronger somehow.
It's the latter of the two. As evidence by the deleted scene in which Optimus removes the the original Megatron spark and returns it. The second spark just made Megatron stronger.

Last but not least is g1 justa s good as a series to watch!?
Well, kinda, sorta, not really. Beast Wars was really the diamond in the rough, out of all the series. Don't look for any ongoing subplots or deep inner conflict or real character development in the original cartoon. The cast is too big, and the episodes arn't serialized so plots are confined to one or two episodes. I still recommend it, however, there are some truely great episodes in there.
Sorry I get so technical about stuff but I know that you guys will be able to help me. Thanks!
I hope that I was able to.
