Optimus Prime is an icon. He has made his name by saving the day and beating back the Decepticons. Now Optimus has a new job as the Newspapers Association of America spokesman.

"Newspapers: The PRIME Choice for Information

The Newspapers Association of America (NAA) kicks off its literacy campaign with a selective list of celebrity talent. The legendary film and television star, OPTIMUS PRIME was chosen as a spokesman to help promote the importance of reading newspapers. This ad continues OPTIMUS PRIME’s rich legacy of public service – he regularly concluded his animated broadcasts with an intimate and encouraging public service message. Huh. Why doesn't my Masterpiece Prime look that nice and polished? False advertising at it's finest again.

Well, that's random. Not that random is ever a bad thing. Shame the headline's three years out of date ;)

Notice the DVD ad on the paper. It even says that it's after 20 years. Hasbro is desperate.

One shall stand, one shall read.

I thought that you were made of more literate stuff, Megatron.

And reading is half the battle!

Autobots, transform and read a book!

OP: All we need is a little energon, and a lot of books...
Megs: More books than you can imagine, Optimus Prime!

'Till all are literate!

I would have prefered Grimlock as the literacy spokesperson.

"Me Grimlock think reading good."

"...He regularly concluded his animated broadcasts with an intimate and encouraging public service message..."

...No he didn't! Unless you count the DVD's, or the season that he DIDN'T appear in, That's a big fat LIE, my friends.

Still, it's cool to see Prime back on civic duty. He IS a legend, after all. My 2 year old nephew knows about Optimus Prime. Score one more for the TransFans!

As long as he can get people to stop believing CNN and Fox 'News,' I'm happy.
