13 original Transformers

So far we have seen 3 of the original Transformers Vector Prime The fallen and the Liege Maximo and all three seem to be far more powerful than the modern Transformers. You would think as technology advanced you would produce even more powerfull Transformers than the original 13. Sure we have a few powerfull Transformers Optimus Prime, Megatron, Galvatron and a hand full of others of comparable power to Prime or Megatron, but even they seem to pale in comparision to the original 13.
Anyone has a theory as to why the original 13 are far more powerful than the more modern Transformers. If so please feel free to give us your theories.

Personally I wish we would find out who all 13 were. I hope Furman finds a way to work the original 13 into the IDW verse some how.

Don't forget Primon, he's supposedly as old as Liege Maximo (thus making him a original too). And then there was the Last Autobot, he was also directly created by Primus (which in turn makes him a original).

Anywho, I'd also love to see more info on the originals. Or maybe a four or six issue story about their origins and background.

I got it.

The closer to the source(Primus) the stronger the creations.

Subsequint newer generations are further away from their creator, therefore less powerfull.

Isn't it Prima?

Also Maccaddam is rumoured to be one of the 13.

Prima came after Primon, it's detailed in Alignment.

Although it's a retcon, Prima could have been a original in the "first draft".

Besides that, I think that all of the originals got their powers because they are Primus' direct offspring (they got spawned by Cybertron itself).

All other Transformers descended from them, although they seemed to lack all the powers the originals had. A prime example of this is "The Keeper", he was very weak when compared to regular Autobots and Decepticons. But this didn't make them weak, they got methods of growing beyond their basic design, just consider these:

- The Underbase was achieved by a single Transformer, you could reason that any Transformer could achieve this power.

- The Matrix showed Optimus and Shockwave that gestalts and other technologies were needed for them to evolve and grow. This growth ultimately made them stronger. The G2 Decepticons didn't have these techs, it made them weaker (eventhough they had larger numbers).

- Jhiaxus started out as a seeker, he became incredibly powerful as he grew (note that he was created on Cybertron, no the Hub).

- The Matrix upgrades TF's to a stronger form (if they are compatible).

- The Quantum surge in Beast Wars upgraded various TF's, it was a triggered effect. You could reason that they would have eventually TM and TM2 forms without the surge (though it could have taken them centuries).

The power of the regular Transformers lies in their ability to grow and change beyond their original form and abilities. The Originals on the other hand are already "maxed out" so to speak.

I'm pretty sure, if you don't have it already, you can download it from somewhere as a PDF file. Possibly the TransForce site..?

Bingo. Here it is...

Cool. I found out a while ago that it was online nowadays, just hadn't gotten around to finding it yet. I'll print a copy after tonight's Heroes. My half arsed printer needs you to stay on top of it so that it doesn't misbehave. As an added bonus all the interior art is in black and white and I REALLY need to change my coloured ink cartridge at the moment. I've been holding off on printing Macromasters until I've sorted that. Started printing MM the other week and the first couple of pages just came out looking like a mess of reds and greens. Given that, the Alignment cover might actually come out looking okay.

Hey Ramrider, thanx for posting the link. I read it last nite, it was interesting.

Now, I never read the G2 comix. I loved the Orig. comix and when G2 started, I couldn't get past the artwork. It hurt my brain.

Does any one have a brief synopsis in realtiuon to "Alignment"? How was OP back? Who was Galv II? And when/why did the Deciticons make New Cybertron?
