Brits are denied Transformers toys?

I have been noticing a lot of our fellow Transformers collectors from Britain have mentioned that they cannot find certain TF figures in the UK. I just want to let you know that I live in the US, in Oklahoma, and we can't even get particular TF figures here either! I have been looking for the Ironhide figure from the new film, and none of the stores here even carry him. Starscream either! I can understand Hasbro not wanting to ship figures to places where they think that they won't sell very many, but are they completely oblivious to how popular Transformers have been since 1984??? Come on, just ship them all over the world, then maybe we wouldn't have to worry about bootleg figures from 3rd world countries polluting the world! Your figures will sell, Hasbro, believe me! We here in some states shouldn't be denied access to our favorite figures, just because of where we live, and neither should the Brits!

Heh. It's sentiments like this that started the ODB thread.

Hasbro is rubbish at distributing tf's here.

I think its because its because the Transformer toys scare away all the Leprechauns.

They are in Ireland!

Oh Hasbro always **** Europe!
But they seem to want to apologise for what they did with Germany! Since Germany has everything from the Movieline including certan Exclusives!

I've heard that Ironhide is one of the hardest ones to find and is certainly being difficult for me to get hold of. I've had no problems finding Starscream here in my local toyshop, they had quite a few of them!
The release date for the Optimus Prime Voyager is suppose to be the end of August here in the UK, dunno if its different in the States?

Europe and the Pacific have always been fairly screwed over by Hasbro, I dont think England has seen the full release of a series of figures... ever.

To try and make up for it, Hasbro gave Europe/Pacific the Turbomasters and Predators, but that was 15 years ago...

At least it would seem that the movie figures are hard to find almost no matter where you are based due to their popularity.

Thanks for the info guys. :D I am still looking for Ironhide, but no luck. My next wish is for Hasbro to reissue ALL of the G1 figures as Alternators! *sigh* But it would be nice if everyone had a chance to collect the Transformers that they wanted, when they wanted. It makes me wonder, do wealthy celebrities secretly collect Transformers and have access to figures that we do not? Hmmm. I recently read an article about Daniel Radcliffe gaining access to his earnings at 18, and he said that would spend his money on the kinds of things that cost around 10 pounds a piece instead of expensive items, maybe he is a secret Transformers fan? :o

A new catchphrase needed- "Harry Potter, Voldemort in disguise!"?

I live in the United Kingdom and have to agree, this country sucks as far as stocking Transformers goes. Since I am on a severely limited budget I (somehow) manage to restrain myself only to collecting Skywarp figures, although I am tempted by the odd Starscream and Megatron now and then.

If you look at my collection in the sig below, every single one of those figures had to be imported with the exception of classics Skywarp. I chased all over Cardiff looking for an Armada Skywarp when it was released, they even had it pictured in the Argos catalogue but it was never in stock. Even forbidden planet didn't have him despite stocking both Starscream and Thundercracker, it was very frustrating.

But I do intend to have a complete collection one day, with the possible exception of having to pay $300-$1000 for an '84 boxed Skywarp. Boxes are important. =o
