They have similar helmets (yellow and horned) and color schemes.

Is this significant, or is it simply an odd occurrence?

Evidently you don't know about the Spawns of Unicron, of which Bumblebee was suspected to be one of the most prominent members, hidden as an Autobot spy for years? It was a 12 part mini-series, I'm surprised you hadn't seen it.

Or the appearances, as vague as they may be, could be entirely coincidental. :grin:

That was all a farce, if you notice Bumblebee was one of the few season 1 Autobots to make it through the movie, coincidence? I think not!

Why have In ever heard of the "Spawn of Unicron" bussiness? Never in my Tf experience have I heard that good 'ol Bumbles was a Unicronian Spy!!! Impossible!! Impossible I tell you!! Although they do bear a striking resemblance.......creepy & eerie at the same time..........*goosebumps*

Nevermind, better treat Bumblebee kindly; he was ALSO originally from Nazi Germany, which produced masses of innocent-looking Volkswagons to spy on us Americans! :shock:

Thanks to Optimus Prime's kindly, father-figure, Bumblebee has reverted to his sweet, bubbling childishness so far, not to worry for now.

Although I see why VW are upset about it, all they did was produce cars for your average Joe Von Everygerman in the street, they should count themselves lucky that they don't have something really shameful in their past, like how Hugo Boss designed the SS uniforms.
