What do you do when you get a transformer or when the transformers isle is bare?

This one counts as two question I guess:
1. what do you do when get a brand new transformer for collection?

2. what do when the transformers Isle is bare like it has been for awhile?

I would love to hear people answer to these question.

For me on 2nd question it is no big deal beacause I also play video games so I'm used have long periods were there is no new games.

As for the 1st question I most often can't wait to get home and carefully open the package and do that first transformation which is always the best in my humble opinion

1. Buy it, go home, enjoy it

2. Blow up the store

I think we can all agree that buying a new transformer is a wonderful feeling! so when i get home i display it on the coffee table and look at it in all of its glory and decide it's fate. where is it going to be placed in my collection room? do i open it, or not? once it been decided i give my girlfriend the look, and she says "see ya in a couple hours" as i decend into my lair

as for the question about finding empty shelfs at the store, well i look a bit like this -

Really, what are the possible answers to these question? Are you expecting people to say "urinate on the pegs where the Transformers once hung"? Or cover ones selve in crisco while gently removing the twist ties? I really would like to know how many possible answers are expected. I mean most people would do the following

Question 1: Open the figure, or display it in packaging.

Question 2: Leave.

I agree with you for the most part there, Shortround. Waiting for next wave of Transformers is nothing like waiting for the the next Halo or Mario or Zelda or GTA. But I do get disappointed. I've worked in retail(grocery to be specific) and when I see an empty shelf, it says to me something's wrong. Usually it's, the store employees have no work ethic, which is it what sickens me(literally) about stores. And they should fix it before I start a rant here.

As for #1, pretty much exactly the same as you said. Open her up vary carfully, save the box/card and instuctions and stuff. Discard the cardboard/bubble. Then go through the istructions step by step. I like to know how to transform them. I don't really care for this "It's supposed to be a challenge/You're cheating" nonsense. I'll think of different ways to tranform him after I'm more familiar with him. Pose him a few times. Transform him back. Transform him again. Pose him again. Transform. Pose. Transform. Pose. Repeat until I get bored. And yeah, the 1st transformation is the sweetest thing about almost any Transformer. If there was a way to have a figure automaticaly and constantly transform back and forth on it's own, that would be awesome. I could just stare at that for hours. Well, maybe not hours, but probably a good 5 minutes or so.

I just got a Titanium Rodimus Prime and so far it's my favorite toy (and I'm a new collector, mind you). I got him for 50% off and I'm so proud. Too proud to open the damn box already! For the life of me I can't decide if I want to keep him in his beautiful box or if I want the joy of getting him out. The rest I have ripped open immediately, sometimes in the car.

Every time I go and see bare shelves, I get mad. I even made a trip to Kohl's to find an 08 BB and no dice. GRRRR!!!

I'm so antsy about my new finds I sometimes can't even wait to get them home. There are all kinds of weird little packaging things hiding out under the seats of my car. I love getting strange looks in the parking lot. People see I'm extracting a Transformer from a bubble and my vehicle is conspicuously lacking any kids, they wonder if something's wrong. Joke's on them.

As for the second question, I'm usually scratching my head as to why there are tons of Pirates and Spiderman stuff all over, even though I know why things are the way they are. Then I go and check out the Ponies, which are almost always as picked over as the Transformers. The bad days are when both sets of pegs are bare.

When i got a new TF from a store, I do one of the following, depending on the mood.

Go home (if i can) and open up the packaging carefully, making sure i save all of it in pristine state. Yes, even the freaking bubble. Then i proceed to read the instructions and transform him.

Sometimes, i'd just roll the alt mode around, view it at different angles, near and far, and take pictures. I'd wait for hours or a couple of days before i transform him for the first time.

At times, newly bought TF would just sit around in the cabinet unopened. Waiting for some special occasions, or when i finished some particular work, before i open them. Sort of a reward for myself, or a goal that serves to speed up my work.

Another situation is depending on the storyline. Yes, the storyline. Sounds weird ha? Like when I got this Movie Ironhide, Bumblebee and Starscream, they'd crawl around everywhere. On the shelves, office table, up on some boxes. But when Leader Megatron arrives, i sort of thought Ironhide and Bumblebee could be killed instantly. So i didn't open him for several weeks. Just let him stay strapped in the box, as if frozen in stasis mode. Bumblebee would gawk at him every so often, doing different poses, sometimes pointing the gun at Megs.

well 1. is a stupid question but you can actually do this in wal mart (maybe target)if the aisles are bare you go to the customer complaint place (i dont kno the proper name, just where it is)and say "hey, you're outta transformers, whats the deal?" or something like that and then they'll say like "oh, were going to order more" then i come back next week and the shelfs are full again

oh yea and one time they had wiretap... seems kind of weird because that was the only real gear thet they had but i didnt get it because i had no cashmaney

1a: pick it up of the shelf, pay for it at the checkout, drive home, open the packaging and forget about evrything else for 3-4 hours.

1b: pay which ever site i'm ording from, wait impaitiently for 3days -2 weeks (if shipping from over sea's), then open the packaging and forget about everything else for 3-4 hours.

2: "noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" will be heard around the store where i wanted to buy from!

If i can't find the Tf i'm looking for, such as empty isle, I'd go home, go online, and go thru the picture galleries of Seibertron.com.

It's a good temporary relief.

I actually carry an 08' Bumblebee with me everywhere I go.

When I see some lonely looking guy walk into the empty TF aisle, I act like I've just taken Bumblebee off the peg and say, "Last one, how crazy is that?"

Oh then how we laugh!

For me, I open the package, transform the figure a few times and leave in on display. I can't help it, i have to open them.

For second, the stores around my town have been out of deluxe class movie figues for a while now. there have only been voyager-class classics in most of the stores recently. or real-gear movie figures

What if you accidentally sit on him? And there's no Allspark around.

What do I get when the Transformer aisle is bare? Mad!

I don't care what the reason is.... there is no excuse for a Transformer shortage, I mean, it's not like we're waiting for the company to produce more processors to put in them...
THERE IS NO EXCUSE!!!!!
Ugh, sorry about that. I live in a Target, Wal-Mart, and Kay-Bee triangle, and I still only have access to the Optimus Prime Speak-and-Spell and a few Fast action Battlers.
You'd think they would just start pumping out all the figures in a massive re-issue.

Exactly! I looked at the closest Walmart today expecting Potato Head Prime and the Protofroms that have been warming the shelves for the past week. But to my surprise they actually had a Prime there, a classic version, and you bet I snatched it right up. Finally, something different! And it's my first Prime ever. :)

1: Usually I wait untill I get home, sit down at my computer desk, get out some toy-opening tools such as wire cutters & scissors & such, then open the box & messa round with the figure a bit. usually leave it on my desk for a good couple of weeks or more.

Sometimes I can't wait untill I'm home & so I sit in the car in the parking lot of where ever I got the toy from, & force my wife & kids to sit there griping about the heat/cold while I figure out my new toy.

2: I go buy something else. I'm a bit of a neophilliac, & while Transformers are my #1 on the list, just about anything so I can say I got something that week will do. This last week there weren't any new TFs, so instead I got War Within TPB vol 2 & Megatron Origins #2.
