I like that!
So why did they say it wouldn't work?

Just like why they said the G1 decos wouldn't work.

Ah come on.

Giant, blocky robots are to Transformers what single-celled organisms are to us.

I can see Optimus playing Pong and feeling nostalgic. Simple is how life starts out (I'm not biology student, someone back me up) and it only gets more complex if anything.

These designs are nice, they can be done, but do you really wanna see giant mega-blocks monsters running around. It'd be good for us long time fans but the new audiences want something more sleek. I mean, kids are growing up with those AI Dogs and what have you, they're sleek and curved. And then they see giant blocky robots. That's just not cool.

That's actually the thesis of all biology.

Life started out simple and has gotten more complex as time has passed....

Or something like that...

Cool pic, but I want something better for the movie. That looks like a dirty devastator sclupture more than an evil giant robot.

Nicely done, but further proof that it just wouldn't work in the movie universe.

I'm sorry, it just won't work.

*sighs*

Considering how big they made the ‘bots and ‘cons, wouldn’t Devastator be about 70 stories tall?

It wouldn't take that much to leek him out. The droids in Starwars were blocky in a lot of ways, but still they stand out. So why can't they work.

Great piece of art first of all!

Now as far as this for the movie, not so much. For one thing, they've established the TF's (generally speaking of course) as having predator-looking and non-humanoid faces.

Second, Devasators hands, head and chest piece will seemingly appear out of nowhere. And there's no chance in hell for Bay explaining that :P

Very nice pic, but it isnt "alien" and "insectoid" enough for the movie.

Plus they probably wouldnt be able to get a company that makes the construction vehicles to give them the vehicles for nothing.

Sweet neperlets! I told you so! Sorry, but I told, you, so! Devestator, possible, in, the, next, movie! Well, Michael only said they are going to do it, not confirmed but hah!

I'm having a hard time understanding what you said, Kudomus.

In short:
Dreamworks/Michael Bay/the producers said that Devestator MIGHT just appear in the next film, along with a few other Transformers (non-combiners, headmasters, brestmasters, etc. though).

You spelled Devastator wrongly. lol.
Anyway, the concept of Breastmasters and the other masters types proboably won't appear any time soon.

Hideous. First of all, EVERYTHING is out of scale on that Devastator. There is no way to make Earth vehicles morph like that. Second, that Devastator would be vry clunky. Maybe none of you have grasped this, so I'll try to explain. The movie bots are flexible. All the vehicle parts are broken up into small enough pieces so the bot can flex and move gracefully. In the G1 cartoon, they moved like humans would, because they were somehow made of bendy metal. The movie designs allow them to move the way we're used to seeing them move. Live action would restrict what the G1 designs could do. G1 designs would move like C3P0. Movie designs move like General Grievous. It makes them seem more human in a way.

Yeah, but it does not have to look like the G1 Devastator, it could be more... flexible. Michael might change it.
