Rattrap has red eyes like predicons and Dinobot has blue eyes like Maximals .Is there something wrong here?

It's purely a case of "it doesn't really matter". When Cheetor when Transmetal II, he had red eyes as well.

Don't forget to mention that in g1, season 3...a few autobots had red eyes as well.
it ain't mean a thing.

Doesn't mean anything, & it wasn't an animation error.
The writers knew about the red/blue eyes from G1 but decided not to use it because it limited character design. For example, Rattrap, an all grey Maximal, with browny robot parts just wouldn't look right with blue eyes, the colours would look crud. So, they decided to have the blue/red eyes taken out of the equation in the great Maximal Upgrade when the Autobots & Decepticons became Maximals & later Predacons, & shrank to a smaller size so they would more energy efficient.

Finnaly someone besides me noticed. I hate that whole "Autobots have blue eyes,Decepticons are red" argument. They're not all like that and they shouldn't be.
Heck some of them even have yellow/green (I can't tell the difference) eyes.

they come from a planet with space-ships, laser guns and giant robots that transform into all sorts of crap and can change size (and sometimes colour-yes G1 cartoon seekers I'm looking at you) at seemingly random times.
y'think they don't have contacts?
still, though, yeah, as a general rule i think of bots with blue eyes, cons with red. but really whatever suits the robot.

The way I think of it red optics were associated with the Decepticons and Blue with the Autobots during the great war (possibly the Quintessons designed the originals like that) but by the beast era the association has faded and cybertronians pick their own colour.

That's not physically possible.
Their creators would pick their color. You can't possible pick the color of your own eyes because you'd have to allready have eyes in order to know what color is.

BTW what about the logos? Autobots and Maximals allways have Red insignias. Decepticons, Predacons, and Vehicons are allways Blue/Purple (I can't see difference).

Sure it is, select your preferred new eye colour and swap the optics/bulbs/whatever.
Or wear contacts/coloured gel plates!

OK let me refraise, it's not physically possible to pick the ORIGINAL color.
Even for us it's not possible to choose our eye color. Sure we can wear contacts and CHANGE the color but we don't pick what we're born with.

You never specified original colour until that last post!
And who said that what colour eyes the Maximals and Predacons are donned with in Beast Wars are their originals?
I'm sure warriors like Dinobot could have lost eye optics/lenses/bulbs during battle and replaced them with the eyes of a fallen enemy...

The whole Autobots have blue optics, Decepticon have red optics was only in the cartoon, and even then it wasn't universal, so it's pretty much a fallacy. The G1 toys, for instance had characters with eye colors all over the spectrum on both sides,—red, yellow, bule green silver, violet, you name it, a Transformer had it for an eye color. G1 toy Prime had yellow optics, Ultramagnus, (without armor) had red, the Dinobots, metroplex, and Defensor, among others also had red optics. Beachcomber had silver, The list goes on. Eye color had nothing to do with faction. It was only common in the cartoon.

Personally, I just take each bot as having that eye colour. Some of the BW guys even have pupils for cryin out loud! I prefer them having the diversity of BW.
And not all toon bots had the red/blue faction eyes.
Swindle was purple. Junkions were red. Blast Off was purple. Onslaught was yellow. Superion was red.

G1 Autobots
Grapple - Yellow/Green
Omega Supreme - Red (Allthough through that glass everything looks red)
Grimlock - Red
Superion - Yellow/Green visor. A little odd considering all the bots who form him have blue.
Wreck-Gar - Red
Metroplex - Red
Hot Spot - Yellow/Green

G1 Decepticons
Laserbeak and Buzzsaw - Yellow/Green
Thrust - Yellow/Green
Shockwave - Yellow/Green (His head after all is just one big eye)
Ratbat - Yellow/Green
Onslaught, Brawl, and Vortex - Yellow/Green
Blast Off and Swindle - Blue/Purple
(Bruticus has red eyes but non of the bots that form him do.)
Predacons - Yellow/Green
Oh this is a weird one.
Sharkticon - Robotmode Red - Beast Mode Yellow/Green
Reflector - Yellow/Green
Wildrider - Blue/Purple
Octane - Blue/Purple

Yes that's what I meant. I'm aware that it wasn't the same for the toys, but my theory was only meant to represent the cartoon continueity anyway as that's where the red and bue optics were most prominent.
