Plus G1 Prime & Megs were portrayed beautifully in their cameos. but G1 had that cheesy-ness to it that you also hve to love, & it's the first TF series. For now I'll go w/BW.

I'll go with G1. Large cast of characters, fun stories, lots of episodes(and this is barring the three Japanese only series, and I assume the movie is included in the viewing). And therefore, the G1 references would be a moot point in Beast Wars, cause there would be no prior knowledge of them.
Even if it's not the case, G1, I can't help it, just too many great characters. But Beast Wars is better written, and in a lot of aspects better.
