Everyone needs to calm down

In pretty much every forum I've visited of late, things seem to be hotting up.
Members are argueing and attacking other members, demanding blood and the like.
It has got to stop. I don't know what set you off, but some of you have gone from fine land lubbers to mouthy little gits.
You all need to take a step back, and reflect.
If someone makes a thread you don't like, don't go in there and cause trouble.
Stop demanding that everyone acknowledge that everything you say is fact.
Stop attacking other members for the posts.
If someone creates a thread in 'the wrong forum', don't start attacking them for it. This thread could have quite happily been made in the GD forum, but I chose not to. It is the mods and admins job to move threads and the like, not yours. So back off.
Again, I don't know why you've all transformed into internet monsters, but stop wherer you are and go back the way you came. Seibertron used to be a delightful site, with great discussion taking place in the forums. Lately, alot of you are behaving in a way that ruins that. And not just in the past few weeks, but the past few months.

Past few months, that's like my arrival!
It's all my fault!
But fun aside, MB is right, that atitude cost us the Philosopher's Forum!
So we just should just shut the F up, at some times!

Agreed, It seems like all anyone ever wants to do is argue g1 vs non g1 untill they are blue in the face and then get mad because you cant make them see your point. It seems like you cant even make a thread in the movie forum anymore without it turning into a war of bay haters and lovers.

What?
Who?
When?
(Seriously, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. Did I do something wrong I don't know about?)

No CP, you're posts have always remained a constant.
I have noticed posters getting a lot angrier in their posting, attacking each other constantly throughout threads. This has cost us quite a few threads that would have made good discussion, but instead were filled with so much bile that the mod squad had to roll on in.
Consider yourself excluded from this CP. You haven't done any wrong that I've seen.

I whole-heartedly agree with you. I know that I, myself, had once gotten caught up in it once or twice in the past especially at the release of the movie, but I agree that there is no reason why so many posters on here are turning opinionated discussions into virtual brawls of dismemberment.
I do remember a time when I did once in awhile post in the Philosopher's Forum on "out there" topics, but now I don't even ever go to there or the TF Movie Discussion Forums out of fear of getting yelled out for merely saying "hello.".
As a teacher, I have an idea of what these certain posters must be like to Ryan and the crew and I have great sympathy and pride in all of them for being able to work as well as they do on this site.

These fools that are misbehaving are causing a lot of trouble for the staff. Nowadays it's always necessary to have a gang of mods online 24-7 to stop fights breaking out.
I miss the vets

I'd gladly trade all the new guys in the world for the old team that would argue nicely, rather than shouting 'OMGZZZZ!!!STFU U STOOPID EFFIN N000BBZZZ!!!!!!'

You're right. I find it difficult to post without the soothing warmth of my Ultimate Guide nearby. (Just kidding folks, hope those of you who understand are mildy amused and that those who are not are not totally lost)
There has been a decent amount of arguing on this site I suppose, but nothing that I've noticed as being unusual (coming from Star Wars and comics sites) except that, at times, I've been drawn in.

QFT.
Growing a touch irriated with being unable to say my opinion and whatnot without being told why it is so evil and wrong.

You joined this year. Technically you're still part of the NKTOB.

I know I am new (joined may or june, cant remember), but I know what you're all talking about.
There are some real A-holes and ignorant people out there, BUT look on the brightside. All this started in conjunction with the movie one can assume? I'd think it's safe to say that these FNG's that start the fighting are a passing thing in conjunction with the movie.
True fans will stay, and when the "new" of the movie wears off, I'd venture to say you'll see it calm down quite a bit. Real fans know what they want and know how to act... those FNG's that ruin things will weed themselves out and the rest that don't let's make sure we make them disappear in a constructive and fair fashion...report them, make notes if you need to, but don't sink to their level.
All in all, I have enjoyed this site and log in at least once a day. I will continue to do so, but I won't let some idiots ruin my fun and no one else should.

Sometimes you just gotta roll with it. Arguing is in human nature, unless you're Counterpunch, who never goes past disagreeing politely. I have a bit of an anger isssue, so I kinda get carried away, so I can see what we gotta fix, but it's inavoidable. Being a newer member myself, and much younger than most, it's hard to keep it low sometimes.
Meh, it'll run out soon.
That's all, I'm drawin' blanks.
Oh yeah, you know you like my sig.
Just thought I'd make this enjoyable a bit.

Yes, new members have flooded the boards pretty much everywhere due to the movie and we've lost a lot of veteran posters because of it. But we've also gained plenty of great new members.
The thing is new members need to be taught what is proper behavior here. Free speech is free speech, but being a jerk is still being a jerk.
They need to learn the way we all learned when we first joined; and how did we learn? By watching and emulating the other posters.
When I first joined this one Poster Fangry and I would get into flame wars like crazy and I always had other members help me out and tell me what to do in situations where I was faced with the option of either being jerk or being the cool headed one and walk away.
New members learn board ettiquet through the older members and I think if we al showed that a little more, giving them pointers and such, things would get a little better. Maybe not a lot but a little.
And if they're still being jerks and won't listen; well they'll rack up enough warnings sooner or later and earn themselves a banning.
And also;
Don't feel like you can't tell the mods about problems occuring with other members because you feel like a tattle tale or something. We're here to make sure this place stays fun and clean for you all.
So like those corny school therapists always say on TV: "Help me, help you."
