If in the movie or the new series, they suggested an origin story similar to Gobots?

The Cybertornian race was once organic, and the next step in their evolutionary process was to become mechanical, replacing body parts and organs with techonological alternatives.

Pesronally I quite like it... It's something, at least. What about you?

Not the movie but the new show I could accept and learn to enjoy.

However, I don't like that it gets rid of the other backstory of Primus, Unicron, Original 13 etc. I like that one better.

I doubt I could warm up to such a story line, after all the back-stories we've already have.

Plus, 20 years odd believing the tfs were created by Primus to combat Unicron is quite hard to shift.

I don't like the whole gods-as-gods plots. I'd much rather have deified or masquerading mortals (powerful beings, but NOT quite actual gods), actual gods that can't quite manifest properly (avatars, perhaps, but not full-blown Creators and Destroyers,) or just pure myth and folklore, spun by these mechaorganic beings around the holes in their own knowledge (gods of the gaps, prettymuch.)

Back before I got reacquainted with the proper TF continuities, I posited one of my own where Cybertron's original star was close(ish) to death and the original inhabitants built or converted the planet into a lifeboat. (This was even before I read any of the Ringworld books where the Pierson Puppeteers do much the same thing, only tugging along a mini-star.) The original inhabitants of the Cybertron system went into a cold-sleep leaving automatons in charge, with perhaps a cyborg or uploaded personality or two in control of the lot. When disaster struck the cold-storage, or it just took too long to get to a new host star, those in control uploaded the minds of the dying population into Vector Sigma.

In this version, perhaps Primus was some sort of "overmind" that formed from the storage of all those mortal minds. Maybe Unicron was another lifeboat, one that got raided, and the ghosts or injured uploaded minds became one malevolent entity.

I have posted this, my personal version of events, before, but it's been long enough to suggest it again, eh?

With the Insectoid look of the movie figures, It would not surprise me if that was revealed to be the "true path" of the Movie Transformers in one of the sequels.

It would not impress me much.

If that happens there's gonna be quite a strong reaction about it by most fans....

I like that too. I like having them have a partial Quintesson and partial other story best.

Uh, it wasn't the Quintessons's story. It was the story of the Autobot Leaders in the Matrix.
