I was just thinking, What if Optimus Prime didn't die in the movie, would the program continue to this day with the same G1 Optimus, or would of been cancelled cause it dragged on to long?

Does anyone think it finished just at the right time??

If Transformers doesn't attempt to evolve, it will die. To quote the puppet master: "Your effort to remain what you are is what limits you."

Even if he had remained, it still would have ended anyway. They didn't even go the whole season without bringing him back on two occasions.

It's hard though, to let go of your childhood icons. I know. Skywarp, Kagato, Blade, Dagger, Evil. I wish they would have stayed around forever, but things must move on or they become stale.

Prime dieing wasnt the only thing that killed the show. The change to future looking alt mode was a big factor as well and dont ffor get the gigmicks......I mean look at the pretender veichles.I do believe that the show may have lasted longer with Op and also if they desided to bring the Japanese Masterforce here.

I agree. To use a Klingon term, Prime did not die with honor. He died on a bed from battle wounds, instead of in the midst of a battle. But he should have stayed dead to me. Instead of O. Prime being brought back to life, Rodimous should have gotten to stay Prime. I like Optimus, but Rodimous needed to be developed as a character too. It might have kept Transformers fresh enough to stay on the air. BTW I also didn't like the futuristic vehicles and non-Earth setting. That was boring.

Oh yeah, Klingons RULE!

I quite enjoyed season 3. Sure, the animation wasn't the best (apart from in 'Call of the Primitives', but I prefered the space battles and wars on far away planets that took place.

Earth we know all about. It's boring to me. But wars on far away planets populated by robots, energy beasts etc are much cooler to me.

That, and I found Optimus to be quite boring by the end.
He's too wooden. Sure, Rodimus was a whiny emo bastard, but his character had some real depth to it.

Still, they could have added some depth to Optimuse's charecter, and besides, I really hate Rodimus.

DIE, YOU PRIME KILLING BASTARED!!!

Don't credit Hot Rod with Optimus' death. At least have the decency to allow Megatron his one day of glory before he became Galvatron... the crazy dumbass.
