How would you best describe it? Is it more like starving from the lack of enegry or more like bleeding to death?

Uh, I'd describe it as what it was: Systems failure due to internal damage.

by Deadpool.
He was so damaged that even stasis lock couldn't help him. After all, he overrode the stasis lock during that battle.

In Human Biology terms:

His internal organs all went smoosh.

Basicly he was just dieing from the damage inside of him and the energy loss..thats what I'm thinking.
He was cool.

System failure from hardware damage, resulting in total compromise of unit integrity.

Given that his schematics are not known, we cannot determine which part failed.

Basically, from what I can gather in Beast Wars, the Transformers are able to heal their bodies by going into stasis lock. This happens when there is extreme damage. Dinobot chose NOT to go into stasis lock, and instead routed all his energy to staying active. While he was still activated, his damaged circuitry continued to deteriorate. Eventually the point came where he was so damaged that stasis lock would not have healed the damage and his body was longer able to sustain his spark energy.

Noooo, he went to "a better place" or "the dinosaur farm, thats just too far away for us to go visit...", either that or we flushed him down the toilet.
