Some people pick on me for liking transformers! Can you believe that! Me and my friend Matt have an un-official transformers fan club, (I'm president, my friend matt is vice president) and one day, we got egged by a bunch of kids saying transformers is gay and only for kids. I put my foot down when i heard this! I said: "maybe you guys should get a hobby, or better yet, A LIFE!!!!". I know these people. They think they're the cool kids who thinks transformers is gay. They're lives are as crummy as John Kerry! (no offense to democrats or people who like him). Well I for one can't stand this nonsense! Please reply with your opinion.

Please be sure to post your topics in the correct sections from now on. This is the second one I've had to move.

Sticks and stones....why should you care about what other people think about what you enjoy doing or collecting. part of growing up you'll learn to care less about what negative opinions of people that don't matter much.

Don't worry about them I bet some are Hot Wheels guys

What would you have us do? Patrol the streets with Autobot/Decepticon insignia flags and baseball bats? Lashing out at anyone that points and laughs at us?

You know what people respect? Confidence. I work in a professional work invironment, with people who are far from accepting of a hobby such as this. When people first found out that I collect Transformers, or "toys" people would lay into me. You know what my response was?

"Whats your hobby? Maybe you don't have one. Whats your habbit then? Do you smoke, drink, love the club scene or maybe you love to golf? Well my past time is Transformers. Everyone has a bad hobby or a bad habbit. I'm glad I have a bad hobby and not a bad habbit."

No one has ever harked on me for it since then. It's not like I yelled or made a big scene, I just stood my ground and explained why I like what I like. Now I have people asking me what I thought of the movie, and what they think they should get there kids for Christmas. I'm not saying every situation will go as smoothly, but never back down from a chance to explain why you love what you love. If people still come down on you for it, then so be it. But at least you've taken the mature route that they wouldn't expect from someone who "still plays with toys"

Well I agree people should be more tolerant of each other. But there's very little you can do about it short of genocide. There's always going to be people out there who thrive by causing others misery.

Why even bother wasting yer time on people who are obviously that stupid? I get dissed on all the time for the things I like, but I don't get bothered by it...People always talk smack about stuff they do not have interest in or knowledge of. Let em talk...no skin off yer nose!

Exactly! Try NOT to waste time caring what others think especially when they are negative thoughts that put you down. You enjoy the TFs so long as it's in moderation it is good. IGNORE the people who put you down, don't bother wasting your breath to explain or argue with them... doing so is a complete WASTE OF TIME.
