In IDW, Verity is from Akron, Ohio.

In that new Transformers Animated clip you see something crashing near Lake Eerie(looks like the Ohio side)

I think it was DW's G1 comics, Spike lived in Akron or Cleveland.

I do not remember which, but I know it was the area.

I know there were more references to it over the years though.

But honestly, I'm proud and everything, I just don't get why they keep using such a poor area.

Ever thought that it is a dig at Ohio?

Like transforming robotic aliens can land there, and no-one is none the wiser??

LOL....rest assured, it would be the same way in Missouri! A good-looking Autobot in the wrong neighborhood would have to dispatch a human if they wanted to keep their rims and catalytic converter!
