Hey, everyone. I've been thinking about doing a G1-based fanfic, but I'm only going to use characters that everyone likes. So could everyone be so kind as to tell me who your favorites are and which ones you absolutely despise? I'd appreciate it.

Really? You guys like all of them? I'm surprised. A lot of the guys over at TFW2005 the Boards all hate Wheelie, Hot Rod, and Ultra Magnus.

I like all the combiners, I like Hot Rod (or Rodimus), Ultra Magnus, Sixshot, the Triple Changers and the Insecticons. I hate everyone else, but I hate Wheelie the most

I like hotrod, ultramagnus is great to use in fanfic as a sort of prick. And well, wheelie I ignore.

I like Hot Rod and Ultra Magnus fine, and I can tolerate Wheelie. Now, Daniel and Blurr... *they* get on my nerves.

(I'd list some of my favorite characters, but my tastes are decidedly not the norm, and wouldn't be much help. )

I was kidding about Wheelie, I may use him as collateral damage in a fanfic but not much else. Hot Rod I don't tend to use but Ultra Magnus is awesome. I haven't really used him much but he has loads of potential.

well personally as a Decepticon I hate all Autobots...at least I'm supposed to I'll give you my top three Auto bots and Decepticons or else I'll be rambling like crazy

Autobots : Ratchet Preceptor and Prowl
Decepticons :Megsie, Thundercracker, and Devistator "prepare...for termination"

also I like Ultra Magnus I mean he's pretty cool...please don't kill him

Cyclonus is cool.

Pic a year, season, and wave of toys. Stick to them. If you place it after 2005, then OP is dead. Before, and we've yet to meet Hotrod and Wheelie.

I like the Jap series of toys.

Let's see some action with the Headmasters or the Breastmasters vs Brainmasters.

Alright, got some definite characters to include. I made the same post over at TFW2005, and so far I have only two responses.

A tad bit of information regarding the fanfic I'm planning on doing. I'm thinking of doing a re-telling of G1, having it take place in modern times. So that means I'm going to give the characters, whichever ones I wind up writing about, are going to have more modernized alt-modes (I will try and stick as close to what they looked like in G1 as much as possible). I'm going to break the fanfic down into different parts, representing TV seasons, so there are the possibilities I might get into Headmasters and other such aspects of G1. For sure I'm planning on writing my own version of the '86 movie, adding in characters that should have been in the movie but weren't put into the movie (get my drift?). Other than that, I'm still planning things out.

So back to your favorites and least favorites. Be sure to let me know if there are specific characters you want me to write about, as well as ones that you don't want me to write about period.

I can't go past Swoop, Blades, Strafe, Dead End, Razorclaw, and Divebomb. They're my absolute faves.

Maybe you should write your story focusing on one or two of the combiner teams. Perhaps... The Predacons..

But seriously, you could write some great stuff on one of the combiner teams.

Hmm. Well, operating under that fanfic premise, some of my favorites, then...

Autobots: Blaster, Cosmos, Jazz, Kup, Ratchet, Silverbolt (guess that means including the rest of the Aerialbots, too), and Wheeljack (need at least one Geekbot, and he's the one who'd have the most fun modern design, I think).

Decepticons: Blitzwing, the Constructicons, Cyclonus (I agree, he *is* cool), the Insecticons, Soundwave with Rumble and Frenzy, and Starscream.

IMO, if Scary Moment in which envolving somebody getting threatened to be killed, nobody does it better than SOUNDWAVE! *Tosses confetti.*

Hate: Wheelie, Megatron, Wheelie, Grimlock, Wheelie, Swoop, Wheelie, Slag, Wheelie, Snarl, Wheelie, Sludge, Wheelie, Blurr, Wheelie, Blurr, and Wheelie.

Combiners are so in. The guys over on TFW2005 are just hounding me about the Constructicons, Stunticons, and Predaking (don't seem to remember him). Like I said over on TFW2005... I'll be sure to give them some really awesome action.

Gosh darn it. I better start writing down who likes who and who hates who. *Looks around* Where the [BLEEP!] is my notebook?!

G1 set in modern times? Coolness!

Don't be afraid to throw in some OCs either, sometimes they can help the story a bit.

Well, I got one guy over at TFW2005 who would like me to include Sky-byte... and I'm pretty tempted to include Barricade and Blackout.

So the fanfic should be classified as G1-based. I would like it if I stick to using G1 characters, but apparently it looks like I'm going to include some non-G1 characters.
