Anybody else remember the Machine Wars line?
Sure they were just a couple European repaints and a few extra cyberjets, but they were cool.
Since this toyline was running in the midst of Beast Wars, it never really had a storyline that I'm aware of. Anybody got any theories? Does it fit into any currently existing continuities, or should it stand by itself?
I used to play around with the idea that Machine Wars would be a good fill-in for the 300 years between G1 and Beast Wars.

Actually, no..I think it was just a revivval brand to keep the Autobot and Decepticon names alive for the fans.

The Transformations were exceptionally simple which was great for playability but didn't make them look too hot, as all their robo-bits were visible. And I was confused as to why Skywarp had suddenly become bright white instead of black and purple.

There is no accompanying media, or story to the Machine Wars Toyline.
It could be assumed that the Machine Wars were supposed to take place after the end of the Marvel G2 Comics, since most of the figures are named after G1 characters, but that is all purely speculation.
The other line of action is to say the machine Wars took place in an alternative Universe or some such gibberish.

I got some Machine Wars figures. Really pretty cool guys.
A few years ago(probably more) there was a fan-made CG movie that used Machine Wars Starscream as a character model and character, so didn't it take place during Machine Wars?
I can't remember what it was called, all I know is that some guys burned it to a disc and sold it on E-bay, which made the creator mad. It had Fort Max in it too, did they ever make a part two? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

It was put out at the same time as Beast Wars because Hasbro were worried that transforming animals wouldn't work as well as transforming vehicles.
It was a cheap option too, they had the molds, just had to come up with some cheesy bios and there's your toyline. Worry about a storyline if it was actually needed, which as it turns out, it wasn't.
In fact the fast changing technology (move a piece and the spring transforms it for you) used in Megatron, Skywarp, Hubcap, Mirage, Prowl and Hoist was also used for the Beast Wars basics. So in a way, while MW was a bit of a rival line to BW, it also helped pioneer BW figures.

I know exactly what you are talking about but I can't add any information except that I thought it was cool.
Yeah, I'm super helpful I know...

That vid was called Transformers: Redemption made by Draven. It followed on from the G2 comics. Really cool. Think TF Cog might have a link to it.
There was another site where a fan made a Machine Wars comic. It was interesting. The only thing I didn't like about MW was the scale where the Decepticon jets and the Autobots Hub Cap and Hoist (both tow trucks) were only basics when a larger size would have fitted them much better.
Interestingly those molds were reused for Robot Masters and large KO's are available and the size really suits them. Shame the KO guys didn't give us them in the Machine Wars colours as well.
Would love to see Energon Starscream given a remolded head and colour scheme to give us a nice sized MW Megatron and Megaplex.

I have a few of the Machine Wars figures
To me one of the problems with the line was it was a KB exclusive
That place is allready expensive so why charge more for figures nobody was intested in at the time
