When will we get a new base, and why are they skimping on things like trailers for Prime?

It's not a trailer, it's the back of his firetruk!

Oh why can't you make a true Devastator for classics?

When will you finaly import some of the cooler stuff Takara has to offer, like the rest of the MP line, THS, Music Label, Robot Masters, Sports Label and so on, instead of giving us the same repedative figures?

Keep in mind this is Hasbro Canada that will be there, not Hasbro USA. Completely different entities.

I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out.

Hasbro Canada, eh? Then how about "Why don't you put bilingual text on the packages of exclusive figures that are to be sold in Canada, so that they can be sold in Quebec, a province which, believe it or not, is home to many Transformers fans?"

"When will we get a new base, and why are they skimping on things like trailers for Prime?"

These questions were asked and answered at the Botcon Q&A. It was actually me that asked the base one :)

Trailers: rising oil prices mean figure weight has to come down for prices to stay constant, so to still have a substantial Prime toy, the trailer has to go. The Hasbro guys seemed a bit down about it as well, but that's whatcha get from $100 a barrel.

Bases: all they said was "look out for something in about 18 months", so we may see something of that nature round about Q4 2008.

Or anywhere else on Earth come to that, but Canada especially seeing as you don't even have to cross an ocean to get there. Hell, I met a few Canadians at Botcon who drove down to Providence, the city that houses Hasbro HQ. I suspect the answer is somewhere along the lines of "because then foreigners wouldn't have to pay twice as much for the same items", but I'm not sure why.

I already submitted this question for the panel in email anybody think they'll have jetfire in the new series cause I think it'd be awesome and he'd be a perfect contrast to starscreams sweet design! I really hope they'll make him a part of the team since they're bringing back the dinobots!

When I was at Botcon this year they said they were going to be opening up Canada to Hasbro toy shop as soon as they could get around our import laws.

The real question should be, why does anyone have to submit their questions, why can't we simply ask them ourselves like every other normal Q&A panel.

I tell yeah, Transformerscon has been going down hill every year for the last several.

While I agree with the " why can't we ask in person" part of things, I have to disagree with it going downhill. I thought the last few years have been a great time, other then me getting in **** from Sony/Playstation Canada.

What has Colin done wrong in the past few years? I thought he's been very good to fan and guest alike?

Hasbro wants us to submit our questions early so they can pre-screen. They've tried other tactics in past years. Don't expect them to answer anything you really wanna know about: where are the G1 re-issues? why so many repaints / remolds? etc.

As for Transformerscon, I think they were getting better with each year.
