My new car is a Decepticon! Help me name it!

My 10 year old 1997 Chevy Cavalier Convertible finally died last Wednesday, two days after it's 10 year birthday, on my way back to Michigan to see my family for Thanksgiving. Not really the way I wanted my Thanksgiving weekend to begin, but what can you do. The transmission finally went out on her ... it ended on I-196 around South Haven, MI. Smoke was pouring out from beneath the hood. The check engine light and oil lights had just come on. The transmission had been acting up for about the last 20 miles. It kept slipping and was having trouble making it up hills and such. I was able to pull it into a rest area when I discovered that it would no longer go into gear. I milked that thing for all it was worth and I'm amazed that it made it as long as it did, especially with how I abused the crap out of it when I first got it 10 years ago. My mom and sister came to pick me up at the rest area after I had called my insurance company to get the car towed to the nearest repair shop 10 miles away. I didn't need to wait to hear from them to know it was pointless to fix the car at this point.

Fast forward to Saturday. My dad, a salesman at the Al Serra Auto Plaza in Grand Blanc, MI, was in the process of selling me a brand new 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT coupe complete with all of the power goodies, XM radio, Onstar and a sunroof. Not a convertible, but still a fun car to drive in Chicago nonetheless. I bought some chrome Decepticon badges on ebay the night before in antipication of getting this car. It's dark blue with a charcoal / dark interior.

I've been trying to think of a worthy Decepticon name for the car. I would almost rather come up with an unofficial name instead of a real name for it, or maybe a not as popular character. I've had some suggestions such as Soundwave, Thundercracker, Frenzy and Ravage ... but none of those do it for me because I don't think they evoke the image of a Cobalt. My car isn't a sports car, it's just a 2 door Chevy coupe ... nothing really special other than what it means to me. I looked at the names of the Decepticon Micromasters but nothing did it for me there either.

The only name I've heard so far that I thought would be appropriate is Sideburn. I know he is an Autobot but names have switched allegiances many times over the years.

I'd love to hear some more suggestions.

Hmm, Bumblebee was a Chevy in the movie, and this is supposed to be a mini-decepticon-like character.

Hornet maybe?

Ooooh... evil-looking car.

Hmm, for names...

Nightcrawler
Rampage
Roughrider

I don't know. Even I'm having a hard time figuring out what to name my Jeep (it's pictured in my sig).

Ah hah! Howlback might be a great name for it, especially since it's got the nice Pioneer upgrade in it with a built-in subwoofer in the trunk. It was pounding out the tunes for me yesterday with some of my old school CDs that I found in my Cav Convertible from about 5 or 7 years ago. I had some good old school hip hop jams on those CDs from back in the Napster days. I really miss downloading all of those remixes that you could only find on Napster back in the day. My music tastes have dramatically changed since then (I seem to listen to more Classic Rock or Alternative music now) but it was fun jamming out to the old tunes.

I think it's supposed to be San Diago, which is one of the Japanese Micromasters if I recall correctly but GetterDragun might be correct.

Look at the names for minicons. A lot of later TF's names came from minicons. Your car looks cool. Drive it a while and let it earn a name for itself.
Drive it to a few concerts at Pine Knob.

Nice car, those are pretty dam nice! And you're dad's a dealer, wonder if he uses my company(dealer specialties) :-?

Hell, even the base model for the Cobalt has a info terminal, they are pretty cool.

As for a name, well to me that's always been something personal between car and driver, but since you're asking...

I like Cobalt as it is, and you are the leader here, so how about something like Command Cobalt or Cobalt Commander?

It's a first try, give me time to mull it over
