BotCon 08: Where do you want it, and why?

Since the location (and date, for that matter) are still unknown, a little speculation and wishful thinking can't hurt, right?
So where would you like BotCon to be? And why? More than just "cause I live there."
I'm thinking New Orleans. I know a lot of folks are opposed to a BotCon in the South, but I think it could work in a place like New Orleans. I say, have it in one of the hotel/convention centers in the French Quarter. For those unfamilar with New Orleans, thats the historic district famous for the French Market (outdoor market type thing), also home to Canal Street, Bourbon Street, the Aquarium of the Americas, the Superdome, numerous riding tours of the historic district, riverboat rides on the Mississippi River (cooler than it sounds, really, i promise!), and a TON of shopping. So there is plenty to do in town besides the convention.
Plus, a portion of the proceeds could be donated to rebuilding New Orleans. While the business districts are all up and running, there is still a lot missing when it comes to housing, as well as a lot of work needed in some outlying areas like the suburbs of Metairie and Kenner.
New Orleans doesnt always have the best reputation, but it really is a beautiful city, filled with a rich history and amazing architecture.
On a similar note, Memphis would also be an excellent choice. It's relatively centrally located. It also has a lot of culture and such to draw tourists.
How about you guys? Where and Why?

Nawlins: okay idea
Memphis: Better idea
Chicago: better still
St Louis: best of all (I know, because I live here is not supposed to be used, but there are a LOT of venues where it can be held and keep it centrally located for all the rest of the country to be able to find it...no city closer to dead-center of the US than St Louis)

Having been to St Louis, I can actually agree with you on that. It would be an excellent choice as well.
And thanks for being the only person to add a suggestion.
And for being Southern enough, to use the word "Nawlins."
I almost called it "nola" but I figured too many people might not make the connection.
You officially rock, Pyro.

I'd go for Orlando, my kid just made this awesome potato canon the other day. It is ginormous. I am going to make him a Megatron costume with it if they have Botcon here. No way they would ever let it on an airplane.
I've stayed in New Orleans and there is no place to park.

LOL! I LOVE potato cannons! Had one whopper of one when I was in middle school...propelled with Lysol.....it was so large, we could actually load other things into it other than potatoes...we used a rubber band ball once (it was the size of a softball)...put out the neighbor's windshield! Whoops! :X
As for Orlando, that'd be great for you easterners, but not for the rest of the US...too expensive to stay in Orlando, too expensive to fly to Orlando, and too expensive to drive to Orlando...I still opt for dead-center of the US!

Gosh darn it! They ought to have decided on a location by now! I want to be able to go this year!
Well, if there's one location I wouldn't mind BotCon being... I'll have to say either somewhere in Ohio or Illinois. I'd say Detroit, Michigan... but there's no way I wouldn't go there, not even if my older brother comes with me.

Becos it is good for you!
Oh if you knew, we have at least 7 breweries in Bamberg, plus loads in the county!
At least 100 different bears to choose from!
