They used to have cake forms back in the day for Optimus Prime, but I have no clue if they still make em or where you could find em if they did.

If you don't mind it just being decorated in TF-style (as opposed to being shaped like a TF), some bakeries will do custom frosting design from pictures/sketches. I once got my friend a Star Trek-designed cake that way many moon ago.

Welcome. And because it's obligatory:
Warning, Seibertron contains nuts!

Hey, that's sweet! I should try and get either a Star Trek or Transformers cake for my brother's birthday next year! He'd get a kick out of it.

Well, you'll want to bring in a pic or sketch of what you'd like on the cake. Try not to pick something overly complicated, unless they say they offer "photo-based" designs or something similar (some might). A simple lineart pinup of your boyfriend's favorite TF might work.
I ended up making a simple colored sketch of the United Federation of Planets seal for my friend's cake. The resulting frosting design looked great, but they ended up lettering it in a way that the seal was "upside-down"... can't win 'em all, I guess.

hmm...I wonder if I designed TF cake molds....I can only do simple stuff, like make teflon-coated molds for the Autobot and Decepticon insignias...Wonder if I could Ebay em? *ponders the notion*

If you do then PM me. I want one. It would be great for my cousin's birthdays.

You got it! Once I get some metal to work with, I will begin to tinker with the notion...I like cutting metal...

I think it's a good idea to have Transformers designs on birthday cakes. The examples were either Autobot or Decepticon logos and pictures of any Transformer on them.

A Transformer cake, huh? Never thought about it but seems like a cool idea. I bet it makes a mess trying to transform it from cake mode to bot mode though.

I took Bake Shop in High School.
(so many drug jokes I can make about that, so little time)
But decorating a cake is easy, here's a link to some TF cakes I found on Yahoo, any shop worth opening should be abile to beat these out with simple frosting if they cant do an image scan.

The cake is a lie.
But in all honesty, there WAS a TF movie cake with a flame deco. It even came with a small transformable Prime figure.

maybe there would be an irreversible transformation, to cut the cake in half and tahe an optimus prime figure out of it?

True that. I saw pics on another TF site. It came from Walmart, but supposedly only the WM Supercenters carry them. You can also buy the tf'ing Prime ake topper by itself. HTH.

I don't know if you have an Acme Supermarket near you, but they had one in the binder of cake designs you could order. It was movie Prime colored, with the flames and a little Prime cut out, but no toy like the Wal-Mart one.
It may be on Cakes.com, but I can't check at work.
