Live in the Midwest and feel it may cost too much to go to Botcon this year? Perhaps you like to eat some cheese and drink some beer while talking about Transformers? Then Dairycon is for you!

Wisconsin transfans present the 8th-annual Dairycon, a one-day event.
Dealer tables, large-screen showing your favorite tf episodes, and
special Dairycon-exclusive items available to those who have
pre-registered for the con.

This year will bring back your old favorites for one last heroic
cameo. The convention, the storyline, and the toys have all been
building to this, the final storyline in the nearly decade-long
Dairycon saga: Plothole

Check the site frequently, as the infamous DTF storyline will give
spoilers on its way to the final climactic finish!
Registration ends March 1st, so hurry!

O.k., so I just registered for this and
plan on beating everyone in the Jumpstarter race.
Is anyone here that's going gonna join in?
Is there anything I can do to one of these to make my entrant faster?

Yes, yes you will. Now that you mention it, I think I may go pick up some more purple hairspray just for the occasion.

I'm registered for the Jumpstarter race. All the jumpstarters are provided by Fred of Fred's Workshop, who runs and organizes the convention. So there really is no trick to making them going faster.

In order to win though, your jumpstarter not only needs to go the farthest, it ALSO needs to land on its feet after transforming!

Many heats have been won by the jumpstarter that goes the least distance because it was the only one to land on its feet.

The heats are also about 6 people per heat (it could very well be more with how many people are going this year). So as a point of strategy, I will tell you that getting a slow start (waiting a second or two after the green flag waves) may work to your advantage as the jumpstarters have a nack for bumping into each other and knocking each other over.

Timing of the release and the direction in which you aim it are key in successfully landing upright.

Thanks for the info on the race.
Kinda a bummer I can't use my own though.
I got one super minty and lands on his feet every time.

Fred does a survey every year. This was previously brought up before, but there wasn't enough people to race their own jumpstarters.

If you can get enough support, there could be a "modified class" for people who want to bring their own.

Maybe he floated over from Japan? In all honesty, I have no idea what Domo-kun has against Seattle.

Hmm, Dairy-Con, eh? Is this for real, or is it just a bunch of guys in someone's garage talking TFs? What kind of exclusives will there be? Has this been done before? Any comments on previous years' events? (Can't go to the site here at work, but curious.)

I've never been to a TF con, so pls forgive my innocence. Can't make Bot-Con but I'd like to try a TF con sometime, and this is right up my alley (almost literally). Thx!

Yes HHR, there is a Dairycon (Adjusted quote for the holidays :P).

The convention is 1 day only, held at the Ramada Inn in Fond du Lac, WI.

There are a couple of small exclusives every year. Just go to http://www.dairycon.com and explore the site and you'll get a better idea than me trying to explain it. :)
