Does anybody else not really care about canon?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really care about the official story-lines. They're just guides for me.
In my mind, I've got my own TF story that is a combination of every TF show and version so far, including the Japanese-only ones.
The G1 US and UK comics are also mixed in there, and the G2 comics, but I haven't read the new comics, so I can't say for those.
In this version, all characters with the same name, are the same exact guy. The only exception I can think of is Armada Perceptor and G1 Perceptor.
So for instance G1 Scorponok, Headmasters Mega-Zarak, Energon Scorponok, and BW Scorponok, are the same guy. Why not?
The only canon I care about is BW and BM, and that's because those actually had good writing and I don't find myself wanting more. The G1 comics, as well, had good writing, and they are featured heavily in my version.
And I'm not counting the live action movie either.
So am I alone in this? Does anybody else prefer their own, all encompassing, TF story over the established canon?

I have used certain continuums as a guide, but I don't "canonize" really ANY...They are ALL fair game to my literary devastation!
I have TONZ of my own stuff...that is oftentimes a bit better (and a bit more grown-folk in nature) than those already out there!

I don't care about canon. I consider each series its own little separate parallel universe.
and yeah I've got my own story that spans a few billion years. Some characters are based on existing transformers, others are completely my own creation. So, canon makes little difference to me.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is "canon"? Is it the way a 2 characters of the same name in a different show is linked?

naw..."canon" is the way one series is set up....like the "G1 canon" or the "Armada canon"...How characters look and act and whatnot

This is a good reason...

BW Optimus Primal, Megatron, Scorpinok, Rampage, Silverbolt, and BM Thrust are definatly NOT the G1 characters. It even says in the show that they are not the G1 characters.
The only ones who ARE the G1 characters are the Ghost of Starscream from "Possession", Ravage, and of course all the Autobots and Decepticons in stasis abord the ark.

Since I haven't had the luck to see any series in full I use the T-1 wiki for everything I need. I think all the series had good ideas so I figure I'd use whatever I need and add my own stuff in as well. No harm in that.

That right as far as the show's were conserned. But the toyline and the comics [both the IDW $ offical Botcon specials] had a few more characters from G1 in the Beast era.
