Oh dear lord ... not this question again.

Long story short, there is no official explanation. Just a bunch of theories by fanboys with too much time on their hands.

I would say in the toybox, behind the sofa, in the closet.. under some laundry, maybe under someone's foot.

Just once, I love a web comic to have the joke where Prime says "Roll out" and Prime's trailer appears with streamers and paint on it. Jazz turns to Prime and says "What happened boss" and Prime says "I don't know"

Prime's trailer and all TF weapons disappear to other pocket dimensions when they transform. This also accounts for the reasoning behind the alteration of mass and shape when TFs with mass-shifting alt. modes transform.

And, Burn, it is true that I am one of said fanboys with too much time on my hand and do believe this theory to be probable.

Whenever I see someone ask this, I give them this:

If Prime doesn't know, no one knows. It's like how Megatron's stock & silencer just disappear, or Rodimus' trailer. You just don't know. Personally, I think they go in some pocket of space until they transform again. But that's just me.

They say the simplest explanation is normally the most correct.

So it could be a simple case of the trailer being out of the camera frame. ;;)

I imagine the trailer's agent is prettty annoyed about that.

Give him a break, he's new after all. Besides, even I don't know. I'll go w/Matt Moylan's explanation though........

Ugh. If only I had the issue of ToyFare where they had Prime's trailer at a strip club handy....

Da, it's not like the old cartoon had the best 'camera' work after all.

But if it did go to an alternate dimesion, imagine the possibilities. Bumblebee could get in the trailer, and then travel to subspace in it, where he could emerge and steal all the Decepticon weapons floating in subspace!

Or he could take Wheelie with him and leave him there.

If mass shifters also have their mass go into thst dimrndion too, bumblebee could attack soundwave or megatron where he couldn't defend himself.

And seeing as either scenario never happened that pretty much proves once and for all that the trailer did NOT disappear into sub-space.

Now, someone prove my theory about bad camera angles wrong. :P

Maybe there is no trailer, and they just add it in post production, like a far quieter and more useful jar-jar. :-?

If i remember correctly the fan theory uses the term "Personal Sub Space" as in a pocket demension accesible soley by that Transformer where non essential altmode parts and weapons exchange places with specific internal
mechmode parts via "Mass Shifting". Only the TF doing the "Mass Shifting" know the exact coordinates they are shifting to. This is much in the same way Megatron taps into the power of a blackhole, as chaotic as that would prove in RL Physics.

So key words here are "Mass Shifting" into "Personal Sub Space"

Now someone explain Astrotrain and Jetfire each can carring a small TF army in there cargobay despite being an earth alts sized for human passengers. My guess is to see the explenation above...

Just to throw my two pence into this antique fountain of stagnant water, I'd always thought it just went "off-camera" as well. I never really saw this as a mystery.

Easy, they both have a "tardis mode" :P

Ok I take it back, the trailer can be like a CGI spaceship then. But what about Wheelie? Surely I can compare him to Jar-jar?
