Where do the Autobots and Decepticons get all their spare parts to repair themselves? I have a feeling both factions get into battles a lot, and so have to repair themselves quite often. Do they make them, or do they have to make periodic trips to Cybertron to get them? And if they make them, were do they get the metals and other things from? I noticed that they never seem to run out of spare parts, even after spending a lot of time on earth, or adding new members.

Thats part of the reason the cons need to continually steal reasources-and the bots need aid from "the governments of the world"

Yet more proof of the cruel way the 'cons are demonised for trying to survive by their sinister Autobot opressors, like a man punished for stealing food to prevent his starvation.
(Autobot fans don't take this to heart, its just a joke :P)

Crucial pieces of technology may be damaged and a replacement from Cybertron might be needed as it was in Divide and Conquer. But, if it is merely the exterior of the TF that is damaged they may replace it with Earth metal as was seen in Aerial Assault.

Well, if you see how the cons were in five faces of darkness I am ALMOST tempted to say you have a valid point. Sure the cons tend to do evil things like squash opponents flat, blow up the world, etc. But only an autobot would sentence the entire con population to a slow, painful, death by starvation. Sure the bots are the good and helpful side, but at least when the cons decide you should die they kill you relatively quickly.

Yeah, the Autobots do seem the type to hold your head under the water till you drown. It's all that being nice to fleshies :-?

I like the Autobots being somewhat evil. Makes more sense than Autobots being an all-good, freedom-for-all force of angels...
Does that make sense?

Yes. Especially given a great quote from Ironhide, the TF that you seem to adore, when he was showing Carly around the Ark: "And this is where we keep our ammunitions, which we use to pacify those Decepticons."

Poor cute, cuddly Decepticons being constantly tormented by the evil, hateful, human-loving Autobots!

No wonder Megatron is so mad and crazy all the time! :P

I could imagine some of the Armada Autobots getting the urge to step on the annoying humans once in a while.

Actually thats always made me wonder about a few things, but I think it would be best to make a new topic to discuss them.

Cosmic Rust had the bit where screamer says "the parts won't be ready for a few days yet" so they either have to procure the parts from cybertron, or the constructicons are busy in their labs making the parts from scratch using earth based metals

In Roll For It, we see the damaged seekers raiding a nearby airbase for spare parts, so it seems likely the Transformers procure whatever parts they can from earth for minor repairs, like damaged panels or missing parts..but for major things, like Prime's cosmotron, they must get the parts from Cybertron

You think the Autobots are evil?

A Decepticon once touched me in my Bathing suit area!

He made me call him "Uncle Screamer."

Im more than postive they used C.R. chambers in beastwars to repair themselves and they used a similare technoloy on prime to repair him in optimal situation.

Well, although there were no CR Chambers in G1 (As far as the cartoon goes), they could only repair themselves by using earth based metals or the extra material stored on The Ark. After BW came along & CR Chambers were introduced, a lot of G1 Comics produced after BW included CR Chambers, so in the comic universe, they did exist.

I don't know. I'm going to say that the Autobots were at first not prepared for war when they took off in that lil ol ship o theres. They wouldn't have thought the Decepticons would chase and attack them. And so didn't bring the things they'd need to repair any damage they took. Maybe a few materials in case of accidents, but definetly nothing that would repair exstensive damage.

So they probably didn't think of bringing CR chambers...

Apologies if that's a lil garbled.

But don't we see a CR chamber like device in the episode "Attack of the Autobots"? It only recharged the Autobots, not repair them, but couldn't it possibly (but unofficially) be a predecessor to the CR chamber?

That's what I believe.

In the G1 series wasn't Huffer pretty good at assembling things? He was like the Autobot version of a machinist or steelworker. Perhaps he helped fabricate spare parts behind the scenes.

Whats a CR Chamber?

In Beast Wars, CR Chambers are devices that repair injured Transformers. The Maximals' Chambers are like little closets that they stand or sit in and the Predacons' Chambers are more like a pool of liquid metal that they are immersed into.
