Could be my weirdest idea yet

So, there I was, looking at a recent episode of "Digimon Savers", and suddenly, a thought popped into my head.
Transformers virtual pets....more or less.
I called the idea "TF:Protoformers", and they're basically little "electronic pet"-type toys, which you could guide and more or less raise. How well you raise them could determine their basic personality, abilities, and maybe even influence what alt forms they receive. And of course, you could link them up to fight.
So yeah, it's basically a TF version of Digimon. So, yeah, maybe it ain't all that original...
But I'm all tickled mental about this idea.
What do you think?

Well, it's initially a good idea, but I personally don't see it happening. I see what you're saying though. Start out w/a Protoform, & make its way up to a fully transformable fighting machine. And then after "X" amount of battles, they upgrade themselves, almost like Digivolving. I like it, but I think the Tamagatchi era has been long gone........

How could I remember to take care of that thing? I can barely dress and feed myself.

Yep, there's always the issue of that. If you can't take care of yourself, how do you expect to take care of another like form? Sooner or later, their spark will extinguish......sadly enough......lol.....I'm so cynical......

I remember I had a GIGAPET when I was younger. It took 27 discipline actions(hits) in a row to send it to an early grave.
Now I want an Optimus Prime to try it on. "Bad Optimus!Bad!!"

It would be interesting if this could be integrated in to HMW in some way. Maybe different choices and battle outcomes at each stage could determine if you'd upgrade to a powermaster, pretender, headmaster etc. or what weapons and upgrades you have access to.

hmmm,
well if the TG unit transformed that would be a good start, Also if the "bot" you take care of was relevant to him, say for instance:
A little mini transformable Soundwave and you have to feed and clean up ravages poop..or with Blaster etc etc.

Sweet merciful crap!
Hasbro proably would do this considering all the other movie merchandise(bio waste) that they're trying to push.
I never liked these damn things. My little bro had a Tamagootchie KO when hes was young.
Loved the hell out of it.
Till my dad accidentaly re-set it.
Never seen my little bro so sad.
He wouldn't touch it after that, he still has problems becoming attached to people and pets, and I thinkit all goes back to that F'n toy.
