Question about keeping boxes

Hey guys...I have almost 1100 transformers, over 600 of which I have boxes for. They are taking up almost all of my attic space and there will be no stopping if I keep collecting. Should I get rid of the boxes? I doubt I'll ever sale them, so I'm not sure if I should keep them or not.

Keep the boxes. What happens is you move? Then you can just put all your TF's snuggly in their boxes & away you go! It's better than putting them all in a big bin & finding out that some of them broke during the move.........just keep 'em. And yes, if you can flatten them & put the plastic inserts back in, then do so. That's just my opinion though..........

I was thinking about flattening the boxes, but didn't know if that would ruin the integrity of having them, and I could afford a storage bin, but my wife would kill me...lol. According to the responses, I can see that I should probably keep them, or find a way to do so.

How funny, I had to flatten all my boxes this weekend to make room in my closet. I got rid of all the plastic stuff inside (no not the toys sheesh.) Unless you plan on selling some of the toys and packages on ebay it won't matter too much if you flatten them out, and it will saver a lot of space.

Still it's just cardboard... get rid of them if you have to. Unless you have a big interest in toy packaging.

I have kept all my boxes since I was 5. What I do is I use the boxes as a backdrop on my shelves, with the TFs posed infront of them. So, I don't have to really sweat box storage.

Then again, I have a huge finished basement and have a lot of shelving. I don't know how crowded your shelves are.

The real question is, "Do you have the room to display all of your collection at once?" If not, then ask yourself, "Where will the toy go when not on display?" If the answer is, uhh sh!t, what now, then you will need to keep the boxes. If you have unlimited shelving, then it doesn't really matter.

As for flattening them, I don't see why not, if you don't plan on selling them, then do whatever you want. However, if it comes down to throwing away a vintage G box and insert, you may want to try selling it on eBay first. Sustain you buying collection by selling the stuff you don't need.

Oh, to Goribus, nice quote under your sig. I saw Lamb of God, Trivium, Machine Head, and Gojira this past weekend. Firggin' killer show!
